The Munsters Movie is Going to Be a Prequel
The trailer just released for the reboot of a classic movie: The Munsters. It turns out that this 2022 film will be a romantic prequel focusing on Lily and Herman before they get married. Fans will hopefully get to see the two fall in love and start their family.
The movie is rumored to have a horrifying and dark twist that tells the tale of the Munsters and their origins, giving this film the potential to be the perfect horror film for the Halloween season.
The Munsters will not be full of gore and horror, since director Rob Zombie plans on making a family friendly movie. This will be Rob Zombie’s first film that isn’t rated R.
As seen in the trailer, it appears that the iconic Munster mansion will be included in this film, and the mansion looks almost identical to the original, including the scenery and other smaller detailing.
Jeff Daniel Philips, known for Westworld and The Gifted, will star as Herman Munster. Sheri Moon Zombie will star alongside Philips as Herman’s wife, Lily. Sheri Moon Zombie is known for her acting in Halloween and The Devil’s Rejects. Sheri is also the director’s wife, so the two will get to work closely on this project together.
Some fans were disappointed to find out that this movie won’t be a direct reboot of the classic sitcom, and will actually be in color. Lily even appears to have a new imagined look shown in the trailer, which has superfans worried that this reboot will be telling a completely new story.
The film is set to release sometime in September, just in time for the Halloween festivities.
