Ryan Gosling Shares Thoughts About Chris Evans’ “Trash Stache” In The Gray Man Amidst News Of Possible Sequel
If you’ve seen Netflix’s recent action blockbuster The Gray Man, chances are you might agree with Ryan Gosling’s character, Six, when he calls Chris Evans’ facial hair a “trash stache” in the film.
At the world premiere for The Gray Man in Hollywood, Gosling was asked how he really felt about Chris Evans’ mustache. “Those were my real thoughts,” he replied to The Hollywood Reporter. He’s not the only one to be vocal about his co-star’s new look.
Several tweets from netizens all seem to be in agreement. “I feel better knowing Chris Evans had that mustache for a role and not because he thought it looked good,” said one user. Another tweeted, “im scared to watch the gray man bc of chris evans mustache.”
Evans plays Lloyd Hansen, a rogue ex-CIA agent who doesn’t play by the rules (or the law) and is on the hunt for Six, doing everything in his power to kill him. The film is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the brother duo who also worked on other renowned action films like The Avengers, Captain America, and Extraction.
The Gray Man is currently topping Netflix’s charts and is the most popular film on the platform. The star-studded cast also includes Ana De Armas, Regé Jean Page, and Dhanush.
Soon after its Netflix release, the Russo Brothers announced a sequel featuring Sierra Six, played by Ryan Gosling. There are also hints that a spin-off of the franchise might be in the works! Based on the book series of the same name by Mark Greaney, Netflix is keen on developing this edge-of-your-seat thriller into a spy franchise.
The Russo Brothers released a joint statement to express their gratitude to the fans and clear the air on the rumors of a sequel. “The audience reaction to The Gray Man has been nothing short of phenomenal. We are so appreciative of the enthusiasm that fans across the world have had for this film,” the statement read.
“With so many amazing characters in the movie, we had always intended for the Gray Man to be part of an expanded universe, and we are thrilled that Netflix is announcing a sequel with Ryan, as well as a second script that we’re excited to talk about soon.”
They further noted, “It’s based on a book series, so there is the opportunity to expand this into future movies. We love to keep going with the world because we love all the characters. But we need the audience to tell us whether they want to see more of the story or not. If we do continue forward with the story, I can guarantee you that Dhanush’s character will be part of that world moving forward.”
The guarantee of Dhanush’s return to the franchise has also caused a stir among his huge fan base. The 38-year-old Indian actor made his first Hollywood debut in
The Gray Man as Avik San, a smooth and snazzy rogue hitman in Lloyd Hansen’s network.
His work is predominant in Tamil cinema and spans multiple forms of media like acting, directing, playback singing, and lyric composing. This sequel might just spell big things in the works for Dhanush.
