J-Lo And Ben Affleck’s Emotional Honeymoon and Relationship Timeline
Soon after their Elvis Presley themed wedding event in Las Vegas, Hollywood’s favorite couple flew off to the city of love, Paris for their honeymoon. Not only are they celebrating their “true love,” but also Jennifer Lopez’s 53rd birthday.
Ben Affleck was seen by an eyewitness becoming quite emotional, and breaking down in tears. “It was just the two of them. They were seated in a private back corner surrounded by beautiful greenery and a balloon at the table.” Perhaps it was the gorgeous backdrop of the Eiffel Tower, or the fact that they’re newly weds that moved him so.
Even though their children had joined them for their trip to Paris, the couple wanted some much needed alone time. As they enjoyed their intimate meal at La Girafe, Affleck started to cry and J-Lo was seen comforting him by cradling his head. “She held him and kissed his forehead stroking his cheek. Soon he was smiling again and laughing,” added the eyewitness.
In a recent interview announcing her engagement to Affleck, J-Lo confessed how lucky she felt. “It’s not often you get a second chance at true love. We feel very lucky. Yay!” In the video you can hear her and her soon to be husband exchanging ‘I love yous’ to one another.
We can understand why Affleck is so emotional, their love affair is one that spans over decades. After meeting on set while filming ‘Gigli’ in 2001, the two actors became fast friends. J-Lo was still married to her ex-husband Chris Judd. “Because she was married, there was no thought of a romantic relationship, so that created the opportunity to get to know each other without any of the falseness that goes with courtship because you’re trying to make a good impression,” said Affleck to Insider.
However, J-Lo ended her marriage with Judd, and that very summer, ‘Benifer’ started their relationship. They worked together on music videos, and another film during their relationship and eventually got engaged in 2002. They even planned a destination wedding in Santa Barbara.
But soon after, things went south. ‘Gigli’ flopped at the box office, and media attention over their relationship became so concentrated that they had to postpone the wedding. “When we found ourselves seriously contemplating hiring three separate ‘decoy brides’ at three different locations, we realized that something was awry,” Benifer said. In the years that followed, J-Lo acknowledges that the tabloid attention was a big factor as to why they broke up.
In 2004, their break up was officially announced. J-Lo was spotted without her engagement ring on many occasions. After their split, the two went on to have different relationships. Affleck married Jennifer Garner while J-Lo married Marc Anthony. They both had children with different partners.
Cut to 2021, after spending more and more time together to catch up, Benifer found themselves to both be single at the same time. They were photographed together in Montana, Miami and in the Hamptons. They were seen spending time at each other’s homes and it wasn’t soon before a source announced that they were “full on dating” and “very happy.”
Apart from their fans, even actor Matt Damon weighed in on how he felt about the possibility of them together again. “I love them both. I hope it’s true. That would be awesome.”
It’s safe to say that they’ve picked up where they left off. The couple are now celebrating their honeymoon in Paris, after all that they’ve been through. Serendipitous much?
