Kanye West Reacts To Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson Breakup
After hearing the news of Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson’s breakup, fans naturally shifted their focus to Kim’s ex-husband, 45-year-old rapper Kanye West. They were most likely expecting a reaction since, in the past, Kanye has been very vocal and aggressive when it came to Kim dating other people.
Kanye did not disappoint. After news of their split surfaced, Kanye returned to Instagram with a picture of a newspaper with the headline, “SKETE DAVIDSON DEAD AT AGE 28.”
The allusion is reminiscent of the graphic music video he made for “Eazy,” which showed Pete being killed and displayed the text, “EVERYONE LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER EXCEPT SKETE.”
That’s not all. In tiny print underneath, he wrote, “Kid Cudi meant to play funeral but fearful of bottle throwers.” The statement referenced another rapper he has beef with.
During the Rolling Loud Festival last July, Kid Cudi took Kanye’s place after Kanye backed out of the event just a few days before. As Kid Cudi was performing, he was pelted with water bottles — a development that Kanye evidently enjoyed.
As of writing, Ye’s latest inflammatory post has yet to receive a response from Kim or Pete.
It has been a little over a year since Kim and Kanye’s divorce was finalized on February 19, 2021. After splitting with Kanye, she moved on to date Pete whom she met during a hosting stint on SNL.
The split between the reality star and comedian comes after nine months of dating. Despite parting ways, a close source revealed that the exes still have “a lot of love and respect for each other.”
However, the former couple cited that long distance and timing conflicts “made it incredibly tough to maintain their relationship.”
Since Pete and Kim began dating, Kanye has continuously and aggressively shown his displeasure. He has since released a series of Instagram posts and music lyrics that were clearly aimed at Pete.
As things escalated, Kanye was eventually banned on Instagram for 24 hours. He was penalized by the social media platform for violating rules against abuse, bullying, and hate speech. Fortunately for Pete, the enraged rapper went on a hiatus from social media soon after.
But it didn’t last very long.
Ye once again took to social media and started publishing private texts between Kim, himself, and Pete. In one of their exchanges, Kim could be seen voicing concern for Pete’s safety after Kanye urged his followers to “scream” at Pete in public.
Pete could be seen countering Kanye’s aggression with, “I have your back even though you treat me like shit because I want everything to be smooth. But if you continue to press me like you have for the past six months, I’m gonna stop being nice.”
Despite the drama, Kim’s attorney, Laura Wasser, said in court on Friday that “the parties are getting along and are in communication.” A December 14 trial date was scheduled to resolve any outstanding divorce-related matters, which include how the two will be dividing their shared property.
