The House Of Dragons: Winter Is On Fire!
The Game of Thrones was one of the most memorable HBO series. It became a household name, and babies were named after various characters from the show.
Watching the GoT episodes was a life-changing experience for most Thronies. With the news of a prequel in the offing, fans are eagerly anticipating its release. After all, this new show is tagged as better, bigger, and bloodier than the original series.
When the hints and teasers of the House of the Dragon were released, nobody minded if winter were to, once again, cover the earth.
As Game of Throne’s prequel, The House of the Dragon will unfold the troubled, fussy, and incestuous lives of Daenerys Targaryen’s relatives.
George R.R Martin, who also wrote Game of Thrones, wrote Fire & Blood in 2018. The show is based on this book, which is a narrative of the intricate family tree and history of the excellent Targaryen House.
This new HBO series dwells on events that occurred 200 years before the battle, rise, and fall of the seven kingdoms that the Game of Thrones covered. The House of the Dragon will narrate the incidents that transpired in between the fictionalized Wars of Succession, more popularly known as the Dance of the Dragons.
The previews and teasers of The House of the Dragon are promising, with TV buffs like Ben Dowell of The Times’ giving the first episode a whopping five stars. He mentioned that, for the most part, the roles were well-portrayed, and the script well-written and expertly pitched.
Even Lucy Mangan of The Guardian predicted this new series would be a “roaring success” while giving it four stars. This new show is a reward to all the diehard fans who, with the same enthusiasm and loyalty, will propel it to colossal success.
Although Fiona Sturges of Financial Times gave this upcoming series another four stars, she noted something missing—humor. Indeed, Game of Thrones is famous for delivering those funny punchlines that catch you off-guard. Amidst the strategizing and ascent to power, that sliver of humor would etch episodes and characters into a viewer’s memory.
Darren Franich from Entertainment Weekly graded it B, as he felt that the show had a slow start despite the underlying logic.
Although there are similarities with the Game of Thrones in terms of the overall feel, House of Dragons intends to make its unique mark and not always be associated with the successful GoT. The seamlessness of the two shows is remarkable; you’ll feel it is a natural continuation of Game of Thrones.
