Piers Morgan Slams Gwyneth Paltrow For Goop Posts
Gwyneth Paltrow is under English broadcaster Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan’s scrutiny after her hilarious posts on her lifestyle brand Goop.
One surprising article on the website called men “penis bearing people” while offering an insightful tutorial on penis rings. Another post referred to men as “the people with a prostate.”
Piers is not a massive fan of the articles and slammed Gwyneth for using such descriptions instead of the generic terminology. He further simplified things by saying that “a penis-bearing person is called a man,” stating that he could confidently say that being someone who bears one.
Anne Robinson, a previous host of The Weakest Link, certainly agrees with 57-year-old Piers by quipping that if Paltrow can’t identify a man, she needs to be careful about her daily outdoor shower. This is in reference to the video Gwyneth uploaded in Goop where she states that one part of her elaborate morning routines involves taking an outdoor shower after her sauna session.
What’s tricky here is that the Goop articles in the hot seat don’t have a byline, so Gwyneth’s involvement, if any, in the content is unknown. And this is not the first time that Gwyneth’s Goop site is under fire and ridicule due to the choice of words and phrases.
When the actress and her then-husband Chris Martin called it quits back in 2014, she invited mockery and ridicule when she called their breakup a “conscious uncoupling.”
But the website is not entirely unsuccessful because, since its debut in 2008, Goop has been a go-to site for unconventional, eccentric, and bizarre tips on subjects like vaginal steaming and the underwire bra and breast cancer connection.
Bad publicity is still publicity, and it appears that Goop can’t be taken down because, despite the criticism, it has continued its expansion. Two years ago, it even branched out to have its own Netflix series called The Goop Lab.
And with Gwyneth Paltrow as the owner and endorser, whatever content Goop offers is sure to be marketed in a uniquely Gwyneth way. The actress hit the headlines in 2020 when she released a candle worth $75 on her website called “This Smells Like My Vagina.” It was marketed as smelling of “geranium, citrusy bergamot, and cedar absolutes juxtaposed with Damask rose and ambrette seed.”
Surprisingly, the candle sold out completely. Her success led her to release another candle priced similarly and supposedly scented like her orgasm.
Goop listed this second aroma as “’tart grapefruit, neroli, and ripe cassis berries blended with gunpowder tea and Turkish rose absolute.” And if these candles were not enough, she released a special and limited edition $25 candle during the 49th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, called “Hands Off My Vagina.”
Apparently, the eccentricity and weird choice of names and descriptions is the reason behind Gwyneth’s success, and nothing can stop it, not even Piers Morgans.
