Kylie Jenner Opens Up About Her Postpartum Struggles: “It’s Not Been Easy.”
After welcoming her baby boy, Kylie Jenner has not shied away from discussing her postpartum struggles.
On February 2, 2022, the makeup mogul welcomed her baby boy with partner Travis Scott. This happy new addition to their family, however, has come with its own set of struggles. And season two of The Kardashians will be showing a very candid Kylie about her experiences being a mom for the second time.
The Hulu reality show, The Kardashians, is all set to release on September 22. In the meanwhile, a trailer clip for the series showed the Kardashian sister briefly discussing her struggles after having baby number two.
Sharing her postpartum struggle with her model sister, Kendall Jenner, Kylie opened up about crying for weeks after giving birth to her son.
“I should be really happy right now,” said Kylie, “I just had this new baby. But I cried nonstop for, like, three weeks.”
This is not the first time that Kylie has discussed her postpartum struggle after the February birth of her son, whom they originally named Wolf but later had a change of heart regarding their child’s name.
While the baby’s new name is yet to be revealed, Kylie has been very candid with her 367 million Instagram followers about her postpartum journey.
“I want to say to my postpartum moms that postpartum has not been easy. It’s not been easy. It’s very hard. This experience for me, personally, has been a little harder than with my daughter. It’s not easy mentally, physically, spiritually. It’s just crazy.”
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), nearly 1 in 10 women struggle with postpartum depression. Frequent crying is one of the symptoms, like what Kylie is going through, as well as mood swings, fatigue, anxiety, and feelings of unexplained guilt.
These negative feelings can impact the new mother’s mindset, behavior, and decision-making. It can be a long and challenging journey, often lasting months. Counseling and therapy are often recommended to help manage these symptoms.
Reflection further on her struggles, Kylie went on to say “I didn’t want to just get back to life without saying that because I think we can look on the internet and you know, for other moms going through it right now, it might look a lot easier for other people and like put the pressure on us. But it hasn’t been easy on me either. It’s been hard and I just wanted to say that.”
“I keep reminding myself I made a whole human, a beautiful, healthy boy,” said Kylie. “We have to stop putting pressure on ourselves to be ‘back’. Not even physically, just mentally, after birth. So yeah, just sending some love. I love you guys!”
Despite these struggles, however, Kylie is pushing forward. She still has a billion-dollar empire to look after, and she recently hosted and celebrated her cosmetic launch last week.
Looks like the second season of The Kardashians will be tackling a lot of major issues, with the other famous Kardashian ladies also dealing with their own controversies, including the backlash Kim received after her Variety interview and breakup with Pete Davidson and Kris Jenner being scared and tearful of her mystery procedure.
