Ricky Martin Files $20 Million Lawsuit Against Nephew
It’s time for Dennis Yadiel Sanchez to face the consequences of his claims as his uncle, Ricky Martin, files a 20-million lawsuit against him. This comes after Dennis stated that he and his uncle had an incestuous relationship.
Ricky, the 50-year-old Livin’ La Vida Loca singer, mentioned that after his nephew Dennis made the allegations, he continued to besiege, extort, harass, persecute, and stalk him.
Last Wednesday, Ricky filed the legal complaint in San Juan, intending to seek help and justice for Dennis’ assassination of his reputation. According to the singer, after his nephew, who he refers to as a “maladjusted person,” made the false claims, he and his family also felt unsafe.
To support his lawsuit, Ricky also mentioned a list of Dennis’ upsetting actions and troublesome behaviors. These include creating a social media account on Instagram for one of his children and posting Ricky’s contact number on his social media. All of this made Ricky uncomfortable and worried.
Furthermore, Ricky was the one who took the most significant blow due to Dennis’ false and alarming allegations. As a result of the scandal, he lost several multi-million dollar deals. Now, he wants his nephew, his half-sister Vanessa Martin’s son, to pay compensation for all these expensive losses.
Recall that Dennis had filed a temporary restraining order against Ricky on July 1, claiming that he had a sexual relationship with his uncle, who later became abusive towards him. Dennis even claimed that Ricky was stalking him after their seven-month-long relationship ended.
But even before Dennis secured a restraining order against Ricky, the singer learned that his nephew was already using their relationship. Dennis was “publicly boasting” that he was Ricky Martin’s nephew.
A Puerto Rican judge officially dismissed the restraining order, all at Dennis’ request, a month later. The singer mentioned that his nephew started sending him messages via Instagram after withdrawing the restraining order against him. His nephew’s messages over the next four months were threats to “assassinate” his integrity and reputation. Dennis had implied that all these threats would not come to pass if Ricky paid him.
Ricky denied all of his nephew’s accusations throughout. Dennis dropped the abuse and incest case against him sometime in July 2022 and was perceived as a troubled man suffering from mental health concerns.
The King of Latin Pop requested the judge to order his nephew to cease all communications, not just with Ricky but also with his immediate family.
After this, Ricky conversed with the press and directed the following message to his nephew, “To the person that was claiming this nonsense, I wish him the best – and I wish he finds the help so he can start a new life filled with love and truth and joy – and he doesn’t hurt anybody else.”
Ricky has four children, twin boys Matteo and Valentino, 14, Lucia, 3, and Renn, 2, who he shares with Jwan Yosef, 38, his Swedish-Syrian husband.
