Kelly Clarkson Set To Release Divorce Album! Will Her Lyrics Accurately Recount The Events Of Her Marriage?
Kelly Clarkson’s upcoming album, which describes her marriage and painful divorce from her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, will capture the story and all the emotions involved.
After the separation, the 40-year-old Miss Independent singer started writing about her feelings but was unsure at that time if she would ever release the work to the public. She admitted that she was feeling angry and that her state of mind while writing was also furious.
But since the singer has decided to share this phase of her life, fans will also catch a glimpse of Kelly Clarkson’s truth about her heartbreak. They can expect a gamut of emotions when listening to the entire album. This album is scheduled for release next year and is Kelly’s first one after five years.
After the divorce, the American Idol star realized that she needed to write again. Kelly revealed that the initial separation period was overwhelming as there were so many different emotions at play. However, as she recently reflected with her producer on how they could develop 25 songs in a single week, she realized how funny the long weeks following the divorce appeared in retrospect.
The singer and host mentioned that almost all the songs she wrote after the divorce, nearly two years ago, are included on the album. She noted that she couldn’t talk about genuine emotions until she had personally gone through them.
Kelly further explained that because writing and putting everything together required time, she had to limit her work in the past few years to Christmas and holiday-related
subjects.
She also admitted that she was not working hardcore on her album, that is, unless she needed to because she was very busy with so many jobs. She further added that being a single mom also adds to her workload, as she needs to care for her kids and keep up with their schedules single-handedly.
Kelly described her album as an arc of a relationship. Everything was beautiful and sweet in the beginning, but then it changed, and sometimes, when things shift, you don’t like how it turns out.
Indeed, it appears to be the perfect description of her relationship with Brandon, who she shared her life with for seven years before calling it quits in 2020. This opened up legal squabbling over money that seemed to have extended more than intended.
Their divorce dragged on for more than a year and a half and finally settled earlier this March. Both are parents to eight-year-old River Rose and six-year-old Remington Alexander.
This album helped Kelly cope with everything she went through. Music can be an effective therapy; nobody can attest to that fact than Kelly. She admitted, “This is an important album. I’m working on this in therapy: I sometimes have difficulty vocalizing what I’m feeling, so music is helpful. It’s just been healing. I recorded the record quite some time ago.”
