Johnny Depp And His Libel Lawyer In A Serious Relationship
Things are definitely looking good and exciting for Johnny Depp after a successful Hollywood comeback. After winning the defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard in Virginia last April, he was tapped to star in several movies, and now, his love life is seemingly back on track as well.
Johnny is in a romantic relationship with Attorney Joelle Rich, a 37-year-old wealthy London-based lawyer who represented him in one of his previous libel cases. Joelle was part of Johnny’s legal team when he filed a lawsuit against The Sun, a UK tabloid in 2020 and during the much-publicized trial against Amber Heard.
Back then, fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean actor were rooting for him to date Camille Vasquez, but it turned out that Johnny was romantically involved with one of his lawyers, and it was not Camille but Joelle.
The romance was intense even then—now that you take a closer look at the photos— Johnny and Joelle were photographed walking close together, and some pictures show the Hollywood actor placing his hands on Joelle’s back.
Joelle was often seen leaving Fairfax County Courthouse with Depp and going into his SUV. And Joelle was not even part of Johnny’s official counsel; her presence in the courtroom was merely to support Johnny.
Joelle Rich was born Joelle Rashti to prominent and wealthy property magnates. She grew up in Mill Hill, the leafy North suburb in London. She attended Birmingham University in 2003 and took up law, and this is where she met her husband, Jonathan Rich.
She further pursued her legal qualification in 2006, right after graduation. She started as a trainee solicitor and then qualified for DLA Piper in London, a global legal giant, where she concentrated on media, intellectual property, and sports litigation.
In 2011, Joelle joined Schillings, a renowned privacy and reputation management firm, and married Jonathan the same year in Tuscany, Italy. She was then promoted to partner of the law firm, which is known to represent the likes of Emma Watson and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Joelle’s biography indicates that she “works to defend reputations against false and defamatory allegations in print, online, and on social media.” Her core focus is safeguarding her clients’ privacy from unwanted media attention and intrusion.
The lawyer represented Johnny last March 2022 after he was not permitted to appeal. She commented that she seriously questioned the UK judge’s decision, given that Johnny was anticipating the presentation of complete and irrefutable evidence of the truth against Amber Heard.
Although Joelle and Jonathan’s marriage did not last, Joelle continues to use the Rich last name. During the height of the defamation trial, Camille Vasquez denied all the rumors about being in a relationship with Johnny. The lead lawyer was telling the truth, after all, because she was then and until now in a relationship with British executive Edward Owen. The speculations became so noisy that Camille stated it was an unethical charge.
