The Try Guys Release Apology Video: Angry, Saddened, And Shocked By Former Co-host Ned Fulmer’s Infidelity
Unlike the usual fun, entertaining, and heartwarming videos that the Try Guys are known and adored for, their most recent video has left everyone in shock.
Now officially a trio, the Try Guys released their formal statement regarding the controversy surrounding their former co-host Ned’s infidelity to his wife and his ongoing affair with another employee. This has resulted in the team firing Ned from their company.
The now-trio composed of Keith Habersberger, Eugene Lee Yang, and Zach Kornfeld published a video on October 4, 2022, on their YouTube channel to update their 7.97 million subscribers regarding a recent controversy. They stated that they would be dropping Ned, editing him out of their unaired videos, and deleting him from the team’s marking and publicity works. And that Ned was no longer part of their company effective September 16.
The Try Guys confirmed that they were given a heads-up last Labor Day that a video was circulating of Ned kissing the producer of their show Alexandria Herring.
As per Keith, Ned confirmed the reports of infidelity and that, surprisingly, the affair has been going on for a while now. Keith further stated that they were unaware of what was happening and that, like the rest of the world, they were also shocked by the speculations turned revelations.
The 35-years-old Ned Fulmer is married to Ariel, who made regular appearances in their videos. The couple shares two young sons and has a podcast together called Baby Steps, which provides their followers a truthful look at how they are raising their kids.
Eugene Yang mentioned that the three of them were all devastated by the news and talked about the negative impact Ned and the affair has brought to their brand and company. He shared that Ned’s actions were in complete contrast to the values of the team they had built over the years, and these values went against the beliefs of everyone who worked for the brand. He further stated that Ned’s actions do not reflect who they are as individuals and as a brand. This is why they also could not just let go and sweep things under the rug.
Zach shared the same sentiment and was clearly sad about how things had unfolded. He stated that he didn’t know how to articulate the team’s pain. It was also extremely difficult watching old videos that they were proud of because, with this, they are losing a friend with whom they built the company and shared plenty of firsts.
Keith was firm as he explained that the team conducted an independent review of Ned’s actions and decided they couldn’t work with him. This includes not just upcoming videos, but they’d also be removing his segments from some videos and ceasing to include him in The Try Guys merchandise.
There will also be some videos that will no longer be released, primarily due to Ned’s involvement. Aside from the rollercoaster of emotions, these are costly changes for the group, not to mention wasted time and effort.
They ended the video on a hopeful note of a “next era of Try Guys.”
