Claudia Jordan Objects to Meghan Markle’s Objectification Claim on Deal or No Deal
A few days ago, Meghan Markle released a shocking revelation about her stint in Deal or No Deal. But her co-star Claudia Jordan objected to the statement.
Megan felt that her intellect was never valued while on the show and that she was only respected because of her beauty. She also mentioned that there were instances where she was “made to feel like a bimbo”.
But Claudia, now part of The Real Housewives of Atlanta show, was unhappy with Meghan’s truth. She, too, was one of the briefcase ladies alongside Meghan in the mid-2000s. She expressed her disagreement and revealed her side of reality via a long rant on Instagram stories.
The 41-year-old reality TV actress posted a direct refute last Tuesday and hinted that Meghan, who was with the NBC series show from 2006 to 2007, had it all wrong. Meghan was part of 34 episodes and stated that she finally ended her stint with the show because she was forced to wear a padded bra and apply spray tans.
The Duchess of Sussex shared that while on the show, she felt like she was not a smart person because everything revolved around her physical appearance. Claudia disagreed with this and stated that it was not how she or the other girls involved were made to feel.
Claudia was with the game show far longer than Meghan. She was with Deal or No Deal from 2005 until 2009, completing four seasons of the show. Claudia is nothing but grateful for the opportunities that the show opened up for her.
And no, she never felt that she was treated like a bimbo. She did acknowledge that being part of the show, which technically can be considered a modeling gig, doesn’t dwell much on intellect. Still, the executive producers always gave them the time to shine.
It has always been part of the show’s flow to select five girls from the 26 models per episode to have a mic on, and these girls engage with the contestant. Usually, the ladies picked are those with the most fun and outgoing personality who can carry a conversation with the player.
The reality TV star further slammed Meghan by stating that the show was an opportunity for everyone and it was up to them to make the most out of it.
Claudia feels that the exposure offered by the show can be a significant push in anyone’s career. She claims she is living proof that after seizing the opportunity offered by Deal or No Deal, she could achieve her present career.
The American talk show host admits that she owes her career to Deal or No Deal.
It became her stepping stone, and for 25 years, it opened different avenues for her to pay her bills, be publicly recognized by 13 million people, become part of Celebrity Apprentice, and have exposure to media.
Claudia was also quick to clarify that she is not attacking Megan, but she feels it unfair to have the show branded like that. She intends to defend the show and all the people who were part of it.
