Warren Beatty Accused Of Coercing Minor Into A Sexual Relationship In 1973
In a lawsuit filed on Monday, a Louisiana woman accused Hollywood legend Warren Beatty of coercing her into a sexual relationship almost 5 decades ago in 1973 when she was just 14 years old.
Kristina Charlotte Hirsch filed the suit, and although she has not specifically named Beatty, the suit is against “Defendant Doe”. She describes the person as a well-known Hollywood star who played Clyde in ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ and has been nominated for best actor by Academy Awards. Only Beatty holds the title of Clyde from his 1967 film.
According to the suit, Hirsch met Beatty on a film set in 1973 when she was around 14 or 15 and the actor was around 35. a neighbor who was working there had brought her to the sets. In her suit, she alleges that the actor “paid undue attention” to her. She accused the actor of “predatory grooming”.
The suit further goes on to say that the actor “commented repeatedly on her looks, gave her his phone number and instructed her to call him” when she was near the hotel he was staying in at the time.
The suit also accuses Beatty of taking the teen on rides and offering to help with her homework. Allegedly, the actor also passed comments about her virginity.
Hirsch admits that she was thrilled with all the attention; however, she was just being groomed by the actor.
The lawsuit claims that the actor “used his position and status as an adult and a Hollywood movie star to coerce sexual contact with Plaintiff on multiple occasions, including oral sex, simulated sex and finally coerced sexual intercourse with the minor child.”
In the lawsuit, Hirsch notes that she thought that she was in a romantic relationship with the actor.
According to the lawsuit, the actor’s alleged acts have led to “physical, psychological, emotional, and economic damages, which Plaintiff has suffered and continues to suffer to this day. It also has resulted in Plaintiff incurring, and will require Plaintiff to incur into the future, expenses for medical and psychological treatment, therapy, and counseling.”
The suit states that Hirsch finds it difficult to interact with people in positions of authority and has suffered “issues with trust and control.”
The plaintiff has requested a jury trial and, along with the above damages, has also asked for compensation for attorney fees.
The lawsuit is under 2019 California Law, which provides a three-year window for victims of child sexual abuse that would not have been accepted otherwise due to statutes of limitations.
Hirsch is being represented by the law firm of Jeff Anderson & Associates, the same firm that handled several sex abuse cases involving the Catholic Church and the Boy Scouts of America. Michael Finnegan and Michael Reck will be the attorneys handling the case.
Besides his role in Bonnie and Clyde, Beatty is also known for his roles in The Only Game in Town, Dick Tracy, and many others. He is married to Annette Bening and has four children with her—Stephen, Ben, Isabel, and Ella.
