Tina Turner’s Tragic Losses; Son Found Dead at Home
Tina, The 83-year-old Tina Turner, has opened her heart and broke her silence on her 62-year-old son Ronnie’s untimely death last Friday. She made an emotional tribute to her son, who was discovered struggling to breathe last Thursday morning just outside his home.
Neighbors of Ronnie attempted to revive him, but unfortunately, all efforts were in vain, and he was declared dead on the scene. According to reports, the death was associated with Ronnie’s cancer battle and one that ravaged him badly for the last three weeks. Yes, he beat it the first time, but he was not so lucky the second time around.
Ronnie’s passing is a tragedy to Tina, who also lost her older son, Ronnie’s brother, Craig, in July 2018. Tina had Craig when she was just 18 years old. His father was Raymond Hill, a saxophone player. Craig shot himself in 2018.
In Ronnie’s case, the neighbors reportedly called the police to his home last Thursday when they saw him struggling to breathe outside his Los Angeles home. The paramedics rushed into the San Fernando Valley property and saw the neighbors and bystanders trying to revive Ronnie with CPR.
After a short time to process the loss of her son, Tina posted a black and white photo image of herself on Instagram with the caption, “Ronnie, you left the world far too early. In sorrow, I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son.”
The grieving mother’s post was similar to that of Ronnie’s wife, Afida.
Ronnie’s bereaved spouse posted last Friday an emotional tribute to her husband. She called him a considerable, highly spiritual soul, a true angel. Afida referred to Ronnie as her best friend and baby.
Further, in her tribute, Afida wrote, “I did the best to the end this time. I was not able to save you,” accompanied by a picture of them together. Afida added that she loved the man for 17 years and, in her heartache, shared, “This is very, very, very bad. I am very mad.”
“This is a tragedy, [you] with your brother Craig and father Ike Turner and Aline.” She ended the post by sharing that, despite how unfair it seems, she wants him to Rest in Paradise.
Ronnie and Afida were married in 2007. This was after Ronnie established a name for himself while starring with his mother in her 1993 biopic, What’s Love Got To Do With It.
Ronnie played bass guitar for some of his mother’s tours. He also has his own band, the Manufactured Funk.
Ronnie’s life, though, was not all easy because he also got involved in drugs. As a result, there were drug-related arrests, and he was even busted for cocaine possession in August 1999. Authorities then accused Ronnie of selling drugs.
The addiction went so far that he even kicked out his common-law wife and their children out of their apartment because they were asking him to stop taking drugs.
Ronnie’s death is just the latest heartache for Tina, who has experienced some of life’s lowest points.
