Harry And Meghan’s Truth Debunked
There is no turning back for Harry and Meghan after they released their Netflix documentary. The Sussex couple is all out to share their truth with the public, further damaging relations with Harry’s family and all UK citizens.
The Netflix series will continue to unravel the couple’s truth. Still, with the first installments, there are plenty of questions being raised, not just about the authenticity of Harry and Meghan’s reality but also because of the inconsistencies that are starting to arise.
Again, the famous statement of the late Queen Elizabeth, Harry’s grandmother, that “some recollections may vary” may no longer be applicable this time. This is because there are too many variations in the couple’s story from what they earlier shared. One of these instances is how Harry and Meghan met and got engaged.
Indeed, these two milestones shouldn’t have conflicting recollections. Correct? But the royal household is clear about their version and has branded the Sussex’ claims as outright lies.
Here are some discrepancies.
According to the Duke of Sussex, he was constantly being stalked by the paparazzi, and escaping the photographers was somewhat a hunter and prey battle. The prince also mentioned how photographers harassed him, and released a series of clips with the Duke of Sussex at a nightclub.
In reality, Prince Harry willingly posed for those pictures and agreed to exit through Public’s main entrance, one of the exclusive Chelsea nightspots. This is because Guy Pelly, one of his friends, co-owns the place and business. Harry was a regular at the club in 2010, and Harry and Guy knew how the prince being photographed in the place could become a massive exposure and marketing campaign.
Guy would usually sneak Harry out the back door, but it was Harry’s idea to use the main entrance, and of course, the business took off.
The Sussex couple also claimed on the show that the Kensington Palace advisers told Meghan that she couldn’t invite Ashleigh Hale, her niece and half-sister Samantha Markle’s daughter, to their 2018 royal nuptials.
Meghan had complained about this, and Ashleigh, who works as an immigration lawyer, was hurt by the decision.
According to the royal sources, this claim is another lie because the palace wanted more of Meghan’s family to be at the wedding. Having only one family member present at the wedding—her mother, Doria—was already creating noise, so the palace would have appreciated having more of Meghan’s side of the family there.
Royal sources stated that Meghan decided not to extend an invitation to Ashleigh as it would have put her niece under extreme scrutiny. Additionally, Meghan didn’t want the media to know about her niece.
Lastly, in their docuseries, Harry and Meghan mentioned that Meghan was left to learn the ropes of royal life on her own. She was not offered any assistance on how to curtsy, learn about what a walkabout was, or even what to wear during events.
She even shared that she needed to Google the UK’s national anthem. Harry agreed that his wife did lack support when she joined the royal family.
Again, this claim was refuted as a lie because Meghan was offered a complete record of her future role and even had a list of names she could reach out to should she need help. The dossier had almost everything on it—admittedly sans the national anthem—but it contained clothes, walkabouts, and everything to prepare her as she joined “The Firm”.
With several more episodes waiting to be released, everyone is curious about whose truth is the truth. Everybody is entitled and welcome to voice out and share their experiences, just like Harry and Meghan do, but many wonder if it is just a game of Two Truths and A Lie for them and the royal family.
