Mila Kunis Agrees With Fans That Reese Witherspoon And Ashton Kutcher Lack Chemistry On Red Carpet Photos
Chemistry was off with Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher, who were present at the New York screening of their Netflix movie at The Paris Theatre on February 6.
The stars who were there to promote their recent Netflix romcom gave fans a lot to talk about the moment their screening pictures surfaced on the internet. In the pictures, Ashton, 45, is seen posing next to Reese, 46, in a manner that Huffpost describes as looking “like they had just won the Hunger Games.”
A sarcastic tweet said, “the chemistry is insane!!!!” while another added, “get a room omg!!!”
It turns out that fans are not the only ones who found their publicity pictures “awkward.” Speaking on Apple TV’s The Morning Show, the Legally Blonde actress shared with Hoda & Jenna on TODAY that her pal Mila Kunis emailed her after the pictures were published.
Reese told the hosts that Mila’s email content said: “You guys look so awkward on the red carpet together.”
“It’s just fun ‘cause when you know a girlfriend so much, it was just fun to get to know her significant other ‘cause I’ve loved her for so long,” she goes.
Ashton happens to be married to Mila, who has been friends with The Big Little Lies star for years. Reese and Ashton have teamed up in a new rom-com coming to Netflix on February 10, 2023.
Speaking on TODAY, the Oscar-winning actress explained to the hosts that there’s no romantic tension between her and Ashton. Rather, she says “he’s so professional.”
“He’s the funniest guy,” she continued. “I mean, such a goofball. We had so much fun, and every time he’d wear a funny outfit. I’d text Mila. I’d be like, ‘What is he wearing?’”
Their Netflix romcom Your Place or Mine, coming in a few days, follows two BFFs — Debbie and Peter — who live in separate towns (LA & NY, respectively). Debbie, who needs a change of routine, hesitantly accepts to swap towns for a week with Peter, who will assume care for her son.
Moving towns quickly led Debbie into a steamy romance with a handsome stranger, Theo (Jesse Williams), who wanted to “see what they could be.” Seeing Debbie and Theo romantically involved through his home security camera led Peter into hysteria and suddenly made him realize he’s always been “thinking about her.”
The film is written and directed by Aline Brosh Mckenna, who has been behind notable projects like Devil Wears Prada and My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
