Riverdale Star Camilla Mendes Says “I Am Still In The Honeymoon” Phase Following Rumored Relationship With Rudy Mancuso
Camilla Mendes bared her heart concerning her relationship in a recent podcast episode. The actress, 28, gives insights into where she’s currently in the relationship without giving too many details.
In a new episode of the Going Mental podcast, she opens up about her relationship without disclosing her new partner’s name, even though she’s been rumored to be dating internet personality Rudy Mancuso.
Camilla revealed to Eileen Kelly that she and her mystery man have been together for “a few months” and that the relationship took off in June 2022. She goes on to say: “I am still in the honeymoon [phase], but it’s one of those situations where I feel like I’m really trying to temper myself. I dont wanna speak above and beyond, but I feel like I’ve known him my whole life, and that’s something I actually have never felt before.”
“I think I’m gonna keep it that way, for now. I don’t know, I’m constantly changing my perspective on it. Because the thing is, I love so hard when I love that I always want to show off my lover…I get so mushy gushy with that,” she adds.
Speculations about Camilla and Rudy dating have been going on for a long time. In November, the talented actress posted a cheeky picture carousel captioned “life update” on Instagram with Rudy appearing to kiss her forehead while she hugged him.
While the actress keeps her new partner private, Rudy told Deadline in April 2022 that he was excited to work with Camilla on a new project, Música. He says: “I’m beyond excited to have the wildly gifted mind of Camila join this special journey of Música. Where we’re telling an authentic Brazilian-American story through the eyes of a synesthete.”
The multi-hyphenate will be playing Camilla’s love interest in the film. He wrote the script alongside American Vandal’s Dan Lagana and will also compose the film’s original score and soundtrack.
Still speaking on the podcast, Camilla gave Eileen insights into her struggle with her eating disorder during the Riverdale filming. She tells the host: “I would watch every episode and be like, ‘Oh my God, my stomach there.’ I was, like, so insecure, and it really fueled my eating disorder.”
Camilla, a Brazilian-American actress, is best known for her role as Veronica Lodge on the Riverdale series, for which she won a Teen Choice Award in 2017.
