Pink Reveals Why Madonna Dislikes Her, Reflects On Linda Perry Giving Beautiful To Christina Aguilera
While promoting her newly released chart-topping album, TRUSTFALL, Pink had a session with Howard Stern on his radio show, SiriusXM radio, on Wednesday. During the interview, she touched on her friendship with Madonna, how she feels about Linda Perry passing her for Beautiful and giving it to Christina Aguilera instead.
At first, Howard brought up the conversation about Pink’s friendship with her long-time musical hero, Madonna. Immediately the Just Give Me a Reason hitmaker responded, “No. Madonna doesn’t like me.”
The mom of two clarified her response, stating that some people do not like her due to her “polarizing” nature. Interestingly, the host pointed out that Madonna is a “polarizing individual too,” and the Cover Me In Sunshine hitmaker agreed that the Material Girl has that quality too.
Giving the host more details, Pink revealed to him that the Queen of Pop “tried to play” her on a past episode of Regis & Kelly while reminding Howard, “I’m not the one, so it didn’t work out.”
Pink further explained how twisted the situation is considering she idolized Madonna as a child.
“She was such an inspiration to me, but it sort of got twisted around what I was fangirling, and I was dying to meet Madonna when, in actuality, she invited me to her dressing room,” she went further into the story. “So I just said a joke when Regis brought me out and was like, ‘How does it feel to meet? I heard you’re just falling over yourself backstage.’ I’m like, ‘I thought she wanted to meet me.’ Didn’t work out for us,” she shared with Howard on the show.
But love is not lost, according to her, as she stated, “I f**king love Madonna, and I love her no matter what. I still love her.”
True to her words, Pink has shown love to Madonna when it mattered. While the 64-year-old singer faced heavy backlash due to her 2023 Grammy Awards look, Pink supported her and spoke in her defense and maintained Madonna deserves respect. Speaking with Mirror UK, she said, “Let’s just give the people the respect they deserve and have earned, and be a bit nicer.”
Earlier in the week, Pink had addressed fans who believed she was “shaming” Christina over her Lady Marmalade commentary. She went on Twitter to correct the impression, noting: “I kissed Xtinas mouth. I don’t need to kiss her a**.”
