“God Decides When We’re Done”: Nick Cannon Reflects On Having 12 Kids And the Possibility Of Having More
Nick Cannon, 42, has not fully shut the doors to the prospect of having more kids in the future. He says this during an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight on Friday, February 24.
Last December, the television host welcomed another baby, Halo Marie Cannon, with Alyssa Scott, which placed his current number of children at 12. But The Masked Singer host might not be shying away from an opportunity for more.
When asked by Entertainment Tonight whether he is done having kids, his response was, “Yeah, yeah, yeah.”
While he made it clear that he could still have room for more, he told the publication, “God decides when we’re done, but I believe I definitely got my hands full. And I’m focused. I’m locked in. But when I’m 85, you never know. I might.”
He explained to the publication that having 12 kids and managing his many jobs is a matter of balance. “Everybody thinks it’s time management,” he stated. “It’s energy management. Once we’re aligned, the flow is a lot easier. If there’s any kind of low frequencies or dissension in there, that’s what messes up the scheduling.”
According to him, another important factor is aligning in goals with the mothers of his children. “As long as we’re all on the same page and we all got the same goal — to be the best parents we could possibly be — that works, and then the scheduling is the scheduling,” he continued.
Describing his ultimate goal as a father, he stated that it’s simply to ensure his kids have a bright future.
“It’s a blessing, man. Like, hopefully, because of what I am able to do, my kids can do whatever they want to do, to be able to be in position that if they want to be a nuclear physicist, I know somebody at an Ivy League school that I could [hit up],” he added.
Nick clearly stated that his goal for all his children is to ensure that whichever career path they choose, he is capable of supporting them and helping their “dreams come true.”
All 12 kids are from different mothers. He shares twins, Moroccan and Monroe, with ex-wife Mariah Carey; another set of twins and a daughter, Zion, Zillion, and Zeppelin, with Abby De La Rosa; three kids, Rise Messiah, Golden Sagon, and Powerful Queen, with Brittany Bell; one son, Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi; and one daughter, Onyx Ice, with LaNisha Cole.
Before welcoming their daughter, Halo Marie, Nick and model Alyssa Scott, previously lost their 5-month-old son, Zen, to brain cancer in 2021.
