Keke Palmer & Boyfriend Darius Jackson Welcomes First Baby, Names Him After Black History Month
On Monday February 27, Keke Palmer announced the birth of her first child—a baby boy on her Instagram page. The actress whose son was “born during Black History Month,” has a “name to match,” and it’s Leodis Andrellton.
Sharing the news of her safe delivery, the 29-year-old first-time mother posted a series of pictures on her Instagram page with the caption “Hey Son!!!!”
The first picture shows her face and that of Darius, 29, who have managed to lock down “only 48 hrs of being parents.”
In the second slide, the pair are seen jamming to Someone by El Debarge, with their newly born peacefully asleep in his carrier on the passenger seat. The Akeelah and The Bee star noted that the song, Someone, is one of the songs Darius included in a playlist he made her when they started dating. Now they “became each other’s someone and made a someone,” she stated.
The third slide shows her boyfriend and father of her son cradling their baby after her delivery. In the fourth slide, the family of three are seen together, as Darius gazes lovingly at their newborn while Keke cradles him.
The Nope actress captions that particular photo: “I’m not hiding the world from my son, I’m hiding my son from the world.” However, she goes on to share cute pictures of their newly born in the remaining two slides.
Keke took her fans by surprise when she revealed her pregnancy at her SNL debut last December. During her SNL monologue, the Emmy-winning actress addressed pregnancy rumors when she surprisingly unraveled her blazers, displaying her baby bump while excitedly saying,“I’m gonna be a mom!”
Earlier in January, she subtly revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that she was having a baby boy when she said, “So, my baby is either going to be a Pisces or Aries. Pisces are known to be very deep. They’re emotional creatures. So, I just want to make sure I’m not too blunt for my baby boy.”
Fans were surprised about Keke’s relationship with the fitness instructor after they went “Instagram official” in August 2021. Appearing on The Tamron Hall Show she spoke about their relationship stating, “It became more difficult to hide. We spend all this time together, and he really is my closest friend, so it just becomes a thing where I’m not gonna hide something that makes me happy.”
The pair are yet to make any mention of marriage, as they are both currently wrapped up with the new addition to their family.
