Mad Men Costars Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola Finally Engaged After Making Their Relationship Official Two Years Ago
Jon Hamm, 51, and Anna Osceola, 34, are finally engaged. Their engagement was confirmed by People, who noted that the couple is “set to wed after two years of dating.”
Both Mad Men costars started sparking dating rumors in 2017 after they met on the set of Mad Men in 2015. In the AMC series, Anna starred as the receptionist named Clementine at Esalen, a spiritual California retreat that Jon’s character (Don Draper) attended in the show’s final episode.
Although their dating rumors started as far back as 2017, it took until 2020 before the couple made it official, following several snapshots of them coming up during the Covid-19 pandemic.
What surprises many of the Top Gun: Maverick actor’s fans is that the actor had initially stated that he wasn’t interested in marriage.
In a 2012 interview, he told a publication, “I don’t have a driving force to have a baby. That said, I’m in a committed relationship, and if it ever came up, I’m not ruling it out.”
He explained his stance on marriage, saying, “I don’t have a particularly defined example of marriage in my life. My parents got divorced when I was two and never remarried. So it doesn’t mean anything to me.”
This interview happened while the Baby Driver star’s 18-year-old relationship with Jennifer Westfeldt was ongoing before their break up in 2015. However, during their relationship, they both indicated not wanting to get married.
In another interview on Howard Stern in September 2022, the Tag actor reversed his stance on marriage when he told the host that he could see himself getting married someday.
“This is another place in my life that I feel very settled and comfortable. I’m in a relationship right now and it’s comfortable,” he said to the host.
He added that he’s been able to “really think about all that stuff that’s made the relationship that I’m in now even more meaningful and opened up the possibility of things like being married, having kids, defining a new version of happiness, life, wellness.”
The Emmy-winning actor revealed that losing his mom at age 10 impacted him negatively. He admitted he has gone through psychotherapy “and unpacking all of that trauma and realizing that when you lose someone that’s so important to you, like a mother, so early, that that creates a wound that blocks a lot of that emotional accessibility.”
Jon and Anna reunited onscreen for the Mad Men finale for the third installment of the Fletch series, Confess, Fletch released in September 2022. In the film, Jon played the role of Irwin M. Fletcher, while Anna played the role of Larry.
