Chrissy Teigen Says Raising Three Small Children Is “Comically Difficult”
Chrissy Teigen is jokingly ranting about how overwhelming it is to raise her small children. The 37-year-old shares six-year-old Luna, four-year-old Miles, and two-month-old Esti with husband John Legend.
Speaking with Parents magazine, she describes her experience raising the three as “comically difficult.”
“Two was hard. But three is comically difficult because you’re so outnumbered and it’s so ridiculous,” she stated.
According to her, her three children are so different and cause different kinds of children trouble. “You look around and one’s barfing on themselves, the other one’s doing ninja kickflips, and then my baby girl is just being perfect in the corner. Everybody’s so different; it’s so crazy, but I love it,” she stated.
Despite how overwhelming it can be, Chrissy says it’s fun and keeps her entertained. “You’re not suffering. It’s like: ‘Oh my gosh, I can’t believe we did this – this is so funny!’” she went further.
Describing her first child, Luna, the supermodel called her a natural nurturer with her baby sister Esti. “I run a troop with 12 Girl Scouts and there’s nothing like seeing a bunch of little girls gather around a baby and watching her get a bath – they’re just such love bugs,” she stated, referring to the abundance of love Esti receives.
While she compared Miles to “a bull in a china shop,” she acknowledged his love for Esti, calling him a “love bug” who loves on his baby sister so much and has the “biggest kisses” for her.
“Sometimes we have to be like: ‘Miles, that’s too hard of a kiss.’ It’s so cute and it’s really special. You just can see their future bond is going to be so incredible,” she stated.
While they naturally pay more attention to the baby of the house, Chrissy said she and John try hard to extend love and care to Luna and Miles lest they feel neglected.
“The baby’s the easy part, it’s about making sure Luna and Miles feel special and that they’re not forgotten about in any real way – that’s really important to us,” the mom of three said.
According to her, that’s kind of the hardest part, as it requires conscious effort on their part, and each child requires individual attention. “If we’re like: ‘Hey, let’s all read one story tonight together,’ they’re like: ‘Uh-huh, we don’t want to do that!’ You get your a** handed to you. So you have to really give them their individual time,” she revealed.
Luna especially remembers to command her parents’ attention and ensure they attend her recitals, dance practices, and every other moment she considers important. Not even a work trip would let her forgive her celebrity parents for missing a pivotal moment, Chrissy says.
