Lil Nas X Reveals He Stopped Using Raya And Does Not Like Dating People Who Are Famous
Lil Nas X has revealed that he no longer uses Raya, an exclusive dating app used by many celebrities looking for romantic relationships. During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke on Monday, the 23-year-old singer said that he no longer tries to connect with people through the app but instead meets people in person.
“I used to use Raya. I think I stopped using Raya… It just like, fell off for me and I just started to meet people in person,” he stated.
Explaining why he stopped using the app, he pointed to the fact that the app is filled with fellow celebrities, which he finds a turn-off. According to him, he would rather date someone who is less recognized in society.
“Raya is just very famous, everyone’s famous on there. I’ve met quite a few famous guys. I think I’ve come to know that I don’t like dating famous people,” he stated.
Lil Nas X, however, did not go into the experiences that made him decide to stop dating famous people like him.
The last time the Industry Baby star was romantically linked to someone was in 2021 when it came out that he was dating Yai Ariza, his costar in the music video for That’s What I Want.” having met in May 2021, things seemed pretty tight between Lil Nas X and Ariza as he hinted that Yai could be “the one” for him. However, the romance did not last as the two broke up later in the year, citing the need to focus on his music career.
By November 2021, Lil Nas X had a list of what he wanted in his next partner, as he shared with PEOPLE. For the singer, being fun tops the list. “Someone who’s always ready to try new stuff. Somebody’s who’s ready for me to become a different person every single year,” he shared.
A few months before that, the musician told PEOPLE that love was not his priority. “I’m at this point in my life where I finally realized that I don’t want to fall in love. I’m so focused on my music career, and love takes a lot of time. It’s a lot of responsibility, and I don’t think I’m ready to have that extra responsibility on my shoulders right now. When it happens, it’s going to happen,” he stated.
