Reese Witherspoon Takes Her Dog For Walk After Officially Filing Divorce From Jim Toth
Following the announcement of their divorce on social media, Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth have officially filed for divorce after more than ten years of marriage. Despite the split, Reese was spotted looking carefree and happy as she walked her French bulldog in her hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.
The Legally Blonde star was seen dressed casually in black leggings, a tie-dye sweater, sunglasses, and a baseball cap while walking her dog, Minnie Pearl, around a park with a friend. Reese’s bare fingers suggested she had taken off her wedding and engagement bands, and photographers spotted her wrapping her dog’s leash around her hand to conceal them, per Daily Mail.
Days after Reese and Jim filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences,” they were seen talking on the phone while out with friends. The couple must now take parenting classes for their 10-year-old son, Tennessee.
In a joint statement on social media, the couple announced they were separating but made it clear that their biggest priority was their son and their family’s privacy during this difficult time. The divorce was a “badly kept secret” as Reese and Jim found themselves to be “two very different people.”
“We have some personal news to share … It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” she statement read.
“We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for everything we have created together. Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter. These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy at this time,” the former couple added.
According to an insider who spoke to People, the Big Little Lies star and Jim are working on amicable co-parenting, even though reports have it that Reese is “upset” over the separation. Per People’s source, “there is no drama,” and the two are focused on their son together, Tennessee. Aside from her 10-year-old with Jim, Reese shares daughter Ava, 23, and son Deacon, 19, with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe.
Reese, who is described as “headstrong and focused,” has been busy producing television shows and flipping a local house for twice what she paid for it. She is also filming season three of The Morning Show. Meanwhile, Jim, who is said to be “more laid-back,” has been sitting on the board of directors at Flowcode, a tech company. The couple’s issues had been worked on for a long time before they eventually decided to go their separate ways. Per the insider, the two discovered that they are “two very different people.”
