Justin Long and Kate Bosworth Share Their Romantic Engagement Story
Justin Long and Kate Bosworth have officially announced their engagement on Justin’s podcast, “Life is Short with Justin Long.”
The couple revealed that the proposal did not go as planned, but it ended up being even more special. Justin had initially planned to propose on Kate’s birthday in January, but unforeseen circumstances got in the way.

Kate also gave listeners a little background on the romantic moment, revealing that they had just gone through a difficult time and had been seeing a therapist to help them work through their issues. The therapist gave them advice on asking each other what they needed, which led to Justin’s spontaneous proposal.
“It was a moment where it just felt so organic and it felt connected to something very, very deeply, profoundly personal that we were going through, like, a real life change, and so it came out in a very organic way,” Justin shared.
“I thought it was the most romantic and honest and loving proposal,” Kate said.
The couple first sparked romance rumors in the spring of 2021 after meeting on a film project in Arkansas, and they have been inseparable ever since. Last month, they sparked engagement rumors at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, where they couldn’t keep their hands off each other.
Justin has been very open about his love for Kate, and he shared a gushing tribute to her on social media when she turned 40 in January. He called her “the most beautiful human being” he had ever seen and declared that she made the best cookies.
“She is 40! She is also the best part of my day, every day – even when we’re not together,” he began.
“She is deeply compassionate and can’t hurt anyone, but she can be a rascal. She loves to tease. She has the best softest lips I’ve ever kissed,” he added.
The lover boy further declared that his woman is “the most fun to do everything with.”
