Victoria Justice Denies Jealousy Rumors With Ariana Grande
Victoria Justice, the former star of the hit Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious, has denied rumors of a feud with fellow castmate Ariana Grande. The rumors have persisted since 2011, when an old interview surfaced in which Victoria emphasized that all of the cast members sing, after costar Elizabeth Gillies praised Ariana’s vocals. The now 30-year-old suffered heavy backlash as fans were left with the impression that she was bitter over Ariana’s ascension to stardom.
However, Victoria recently revealed to E! News at the Revolve Festival that she and Ariana still talk and remain amicable over a decade after their beloved tween comedy. “I think the biggest rumor is this whole narrative that was created with me being jealous of her and of us not being friends,” she began.
She went further to reveal that she and Ariana exchanged texts talking about stupid the conversation was.
Victoria believes the rumors of jealousy and feud were created by the media and people wanting to pit women against each other. She praised Grande, saying she is killing it right now and has been very supportive of her music. The Florida-born actress finds it frustrating that people try to pit women against each other and believes it’s all about supporting and building each other up.
“I love Ariana, and she’s killing it right now. And she’s been so supportive of me and my music. And you know, we text. It’s really cool,” she stated.
“I feel like it’s this constant story of the media and people wanting to pit people against each other, and it’s just so not even relevant anymore now,” she added.
In 2020, the Victorious cast got on a Zoom call in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of their sitcom. Ariana shared a screenshot of the cast’s video call with her 367 million Instagram followers, while Victoria shared a clip from the Zoom call and some behind-the-scenes snapshots taken during filming.
Victorious, which premiered back in 2010, follows the life of main character Tori Vega, played by Victoria, as she attends the elite performing arts high school, Hollywood Arts. After four seasons on Nickelodeon, the show was stopped in 2013.
Despite the end of the show, it’s clear that the cast still holds a special place in the hearts of many fans. While rumors of a feud between Victoria and Ariana may persist, the former herself has made it clear that there is no bad blood between them.
In Victoria’s words, “everything’s all good.”
