Kourtney Kardashian Is Happy With Her Decision Not To Have Cameras For Their Show During Her Wedding To Travis Barker
It is easy to say that in Hollywood, the Kardashian-Jenner family loves the camera and being in it. Since they found fame, the family has always lived with a camera following them around, as manifested in their reality shows.
Among the famous siblings, Kendall and Kourtney have always been more reserved in front of the camera. Kourtney has recently revealed that she is happy with her decision not to film any of her three wedding ceremonies for their reality show, The Kardashians.
Yes, she and her husband did release a Hulu special entitled ‘Til Death Do Us Part Kourtney & Travis”, but these contained raw footage of their wedding in Portofino, Italy.
The 43-year-old reality star is pleased that she and her husband were in control and had the freedom to capture the video without the intention or pressure that their audience is practically everybody.
Kourtney, last May, uploaded a slideshow of their wedding moments and captioned it, “I love that we didn’t even realize that we were being filmed. I love that no one has microphones and that the audio isn’t always perfect.”
The mother of three gushed about the rawness of the videos captured during her wedding and added how she loved some of the guys filming their own feet and not realizing that the camera was still on.
Compared to being filmed for their reality show, it was a welcome break for Kourtney to let go during her big day. Despite the many seasons of their reality show, she described herself as someone who still struggles with being filmed. She was extremely grateful for the chance to create an authentic and beautiful documentary they could watch, which meant so much to them as a couple.
Kourtney was firm when she told her 218 million Instagram followers, “When we were asked about filming our wedding in Italy, our final decision was that we didn’t want the show’s cameras there, and I am so happy with that decision.”
Ellen von Unwerth was tasked with capturing Kourtney and Travis’ Italian ceremony.
What’s striking about the couple’s Hulu documentary is that it doesn’t have the usual confessional interviews that are common and a staple to their old reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians and The Kardashians.
Kourtney admitted that she and Travis started doing studio interviews, but Travis requested to remove the footage, which was a smart one, according to Kourtney. The documentary, according to Kourtney, was all personal footage that was edited to become an imperfectly cohesive mini-film.
She commended Travis’ drum technician and friend, Clemente Ruiz, and her husband’s music manager, Kevin Wolff, for capturing their whole Las Vegas wedding using their iPhones. She mused that if not for the two men, she would have forgotten that the night even happened.
The couple enlisted Julia Kulik to capture the moment for their intimate Santa Barbara wedding. This coverage was intended purely for personal memories that the bride and groom found essential.
