How Did Aaron Carter Die? Cause Of Death Revealed
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner has determined the cause of Aaron Carter’s death.
According to records published on the Coroner’s website, the singer died from drowning in a bathtub and the effects of alprazolam and difluoroethane.
His death was ruled an accident. The report listed the effects of alprazolam, which is sold under the generic name Xanax, and difluoroethane, a compressed gas found in aerosol sprays and refrigerants, as the secondary causes of death.
Carter died on November 5 of last year at the age of 34. He was found dead in the bathtub of his Lancaster, California, home, as reported by a representative of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
While an autopsy was performed the day after the singer’s death, results were withheld for toxicology tests, which can take months.
After the report was released, the former representatives of the child star, Kelly K Public Relations and Holly Davidson of ICT PR, shared that the report was a much-needed closure.
In a statement to E!News, they said, “We are glad this case is finally closed so we can have a celebration of life and send him off to rest. Our team actively tried to implement a plan to rehabilitate a recovery to health, however, due to outside influences and triggering dysfunctional relationships, these circumstances made it a challenge.”
However, Melanie Martin, Aaron Carter’s fiancée, and mother of his child, told TMZ that she does not believe the autopsy reports.
She said, “The results of the autopsy are not closure for me. It claims death is by drowning but also adds he was wearing a t-shirt and necklace in the bathtub which doesn’t make sense, why would he be in a bathtub with clothes on? I am still in shock and still miss Aaron every day. I don’t understand the chain of events and this report only has us asking more questions.”
Melanie believes it was drugs that killed Aaron. She told TMZ that there were text messages on Aaron’s phone that indicated he owed someone $800 for an unknown substance. And that she had submitted the proof to the authorities for further investigation.
Aaron’s mother, Jane, too, believes it was foul play. Earlier in March this year, Jane revealed several photos of Aaron’s bathroom on the day he was found dead. She thinks it was not an overdose but a crime scene.
She wrote a post in which she talks about how the possibility of homicide was not even considered due to Aaron’s addiction. Sharing the pictures, she further states that the police did not take them since they did not even consider it a crime scene.
Before becoming a singer, Aaron was a child star who acted in television shows like Lizzie McGuire and 7th Heaven and also appeared in his family’s reality series “House of Carters.”
Aron performed as an opening act for Britney Spears as well as for his older brother Nick Carter’s boy band, the Backstreet Boys. He earned fame young, with songs like “Crush on You” and released his debut album, “Aaron Carter” in 1997.
