Jamie Foxx Thanks Fans and Colleagues For Support During Challenging Time
Actor and musician Jamie Foxx is expressing his gratitude to his fans and fellow entertainer Nick Cannon following his hospitalization due to a medical complication. The accomplished star shared a post on Wednesday via Instagram thanking his supporters for their outpouring of love and support during his recovery.
“Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed,” he wrote.
The 55-year-old also took to his stories to express appreciation for Cannon, who stepped in to host Jamie’s show “Beat Shazam” while he was recovering.
Jamie’s message of appreciation came three weeks after his family revealed that he was hospitalized while filming the Netflix movie Back in Action in Atlanta, Georgia. Seeing the post, fans and fellow celebrities have been showering him with love and support online.
Users who reacted to the post include Vin Diesel, Coutrney Cox, and John Legend. Ansel Elgort, his co-star in 2017 film Baby Driver, also commented on the post, saying, “You are the greatest Jamie, please make a speedy recovery. You are a blessing to this world, we need you in it.”
The actor’s daughter, Corinne, also expressed her gratitude on her Instagram story while sharing her father’s post. She thanked everyone for their love and concern during this difficult time. “Thanks for the love!” she captioned.
On April 12, Corinne announced that her father had experienced a medical complication while filming the Netflix movie. However, “due to the quick action and great care” of the medical professionals who attended to him, Foxx was already on his way to recovery at the time.
“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family,” the post read
As Jamie’s health continued to improve, multiple sources reported that he was steadily recovering in a Georgia medical facility. “He’s okay, thank God. He’s still in the hospital and doctors are running tests but he’s awake and alert. They’re keeping him under observation,” a source told PEOPLE about a week after Corinne’s announcement.
Despite his hospitalization, production on the Netflix movie resumed soon after, with one stunt double standing in for the Day Shift star while a second person served as his photo double.
