Olivia Culpo Unmasked as UFO on The Masked Singer: A Look at the Highlights of the Show
On Wednesday’s quarterfinals episode of The Masked Singer that featured a British Invasion theme, former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo was unmasked as the UFO. The episode saw four contestants, including the UFO, perform and battle it out to advance to the next round of the popular singing competition.
The UFO, dressed in a silver outfit with a spaceship for a skirt, received the lowest scores of the night and had her identity revealed at the end of the hour-long show. “No freaking way,” screamed Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, one of the judges.
Olivia, 30, who has made a name for herself in the fashion industry, surprised the judges with her singing abilities. “I can’t believe it’s Olivia,” said Nicole Scherzinger, another judge. “My friend Olivia!”
Olivia, who was a surprise addition to the show, admitted that she loves singing in the shower but never thought of taking it seriously. “I mean, I’m no Nicole Scherzinger but I like to sing in the shower,” she said. However, after receiving cheers from the crowd, Olivia said that she would consider making her singing more professional-sounding.
Before her unmasking, the UFO shared how excited she was to perform for the audience with a mask on.
“So much of my career is based on the way that I look physically, so adding value because of my energy or my singing, it feels like there is more that I have to offer. And, you know, I’m getting older, so, gotta hold on to something,” she stated.
Olivia’s performance as the UFO included Amy Winehouse’s song Tears Dry On Their Own. At the end of her run, the judges were in awe of the UFO’s performance. “You are so fun, UFO,” said Jenny. The judges then took turns guessing who the UFO could be, with Robin Thicke guessing it was supermodel Molly Sims and Jenny thinking it was Gigi Hadid. Nicole was certain the UFO was Lily Collins, while Ken Jeong guessed Rebecca Romijn.
Despite being unmasked, Olivia was grateful for the opportunity to showcase her personality. “Just thank you so much for this opportunity. I really do feel like although I had a mask on, this is more of my personality that I got to share for the first time. So much of that I feel like I have to do is not about that, or people don’t want to see your personality, so this was really, really fun for me,” she said.
