Miley Cyrus Embarks On Unconventional Healing Journey: Eye Movement Therapy, Fitness, And Journaling
In an exclusive interview with British Vogue, Miley Cyrus revealed her unique approach to healing and personal growth. The 30-year-old singer, famous for hits like Wrecking Ball and Party In The USA, disclosed that she has been undergoing eye movement therapy, along with engaging in fitness routines and journaling as part of her counseling process.
Miley, who recently divorced actor Liam Hemsworth and is now dating musician Maxx Morando, credited her progress to the remarkable effectiveness of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. She expressed her enthusiasm for this innovative technique, explaining that EMDR enables individuals to diminish the physical sensations associated with distressing memories.
“I did a lot of EMDR. It’s so helpful,” she stated. “Essentially, you delete the physical sensations associated with these painful memories. The EMDR really helped me.”
EMDR therapy, widely regarded as a powerful method for coming to terms with traumatic experiences, has been recognized for its potential to alleviate the emotional burden of past events by stimulating bilateral eye movements.
Miley also shared her unconventional fitness regimen, which involves exclusively working out with “gay men.” The pop star described engaging in lively workout classes inspired by iconic figures such as Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, and Madonna. These unique exercise routines integrate dance moves and choreography, accompanied by the use of light weights.
“I only hang out with, like, gay men. So they come over, and we do a whole class based off of Nicki Minaj or we have a Britney series. I have a Madonna Vogue series, which is doing the entire bow choreography with, like, our little weights,” she stated.
Miley, who recently embraced sobriety, emphasized the importance of physical and mental well-being and shared her desire to inspire others through a wellness comedy concept. In this envisioned project, she intends to provide humorous yet insightful advice, acknowledging the limitations of offering generic recommendations without understanding individuals’ specific needs and circumstances.
“I actually had this idea of doing kind of like a wellness comedy, which was me basically saying, ‘I’m Miley Cyrus, and I can’t tell you what to eat or what supplements to take because I haven’t seen your lab work,'” she stated.
Journaling also holds a significant place in the internationally renowned pop star’s life. She considers it a valuable tool for self-reflection, personal growth, and making intentional choices aligned with her values. During the interview, she even shared an excerpt from a recent journal entry that focused on prioritizing her mental and physical health, investing in relationships, pursuing her passions, and adhering to personalized protocols designed to enhance her life.
As fans eagerly anticipate her next artistic endeavors, the June 2023 issue of British Vogue, featuring Miley Cyrus on the cover, will be available on newsstands starting May 23rd.
