Beyoncé And Her Husband Jay-Z Expand Their Property Portfolio With A Whopping $200m Mega-Mansion
Beyoncé and Jay-Z made a historic real estate purchase when they purchased what was thought to be California’s most expensive super mansion.
The couple certainly doesn’t settle for anything less, even regarding properties, because they just enlisted a $200 million Malibu megahome under their name. The 52-year-old hip-hop legend and 41-year-old multi-awarded Grammy hitmaker bought the property, and as per TMZ, this shattered the state’s property buying price record.
The power couple already has an impressive property portfolio, owning a mansion in the posh Bel Air neighborhood. It has now become California’s record holder in terms of the highest property purchase cost.
Marc Andreessen, a venture capitalist who bought his home next to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s mansion in 2021, previously held the record. It was reported that he spent a whopping $177 on his house back then.
The purchase of the 30,000-foot concrete compound is also considered the second most expensive purchase in the entire country after Ken Griffin, a hedge fund mogul, purchased a $238 million apartment in 2019. This property is located in Central Park South, New York City.
After Beyoncé completes her Renaissance World Tour, she can come home to this new luxury house that is strategically located on an eight-acre bluff that provides an impressive view of the Pacific Ocean in the Paradise Cove area, which was given the rather fitting nickname of “Billionaires’ Row”.
What’s surprising is that despite the exorbitant price tag, the couple with three children together, 11-year-old Blue Ivy and 5-year-old twins Rumi and Sir, got a lower deal on the property. It was reported that the original price for the super mansion was a substantial $295 million.
And the property certainly is the epitome of modern luxury, with its L-shaped structure, vast concrete hallways, and refreshing floor-to-ceiling glass panels. It also boasts an expansive backyard with pools and a cliff overlooking the beach.
The new home of Beyoncé and Jay-Z can be 100% complete with 5-star hotels regarding aesthetics and structure.
The spacious home was another masterpiece by Japanese master architect Tadao Ando, who is also currently working on and designing the Malibu house of controversial rapper Kanye West.
Tadao Ando is a Pritzker Prize winner, thanks to his impressively one-of-a-kind concrete structures in North America, Europe, and Asia.
According to the Los Angeles Times, a famed art collector, William Bell previously owned Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s new minimalist property, and it was built for him. In 2003, he paid $14.5 million for the mansion. William then spent the next 15 years building the concrete organization of the house.
According to the New York Post, the house boasts William’s private collection besides the actual property.
The ocean-overlooking house was never placed on the market, and instead, viewings were exclusively scheduled to select buyers.
Aside from this newly acquired property, Beyoncé and Jay-Z are also owners of other properties, including opulent homes in The Hamptons, Los Angeles, and New York City. With a staggering combined net worth of more than $1 billion, the newly purchased home is in no way a dent to the couple’s bank account.
