Khloé Kardashian Feels Guilty About Her Struggles Bonding With Her Second Child, Tatum

Mom-of-two Khloé Kardashian recently shared her guilt about failing to bond with her second baby, Tatum, who was born via surrogacy. It’s been three months, and the reality star has not established any real connection yet with the child.
This revelation was made known via the family’s reality show, The Kardashians, on Hulu.
While her famous sisters are having the time of their lives, with Kim traveling to Milan and Kourtney and Kendall seizing New York City, Khloé, who also had a health scare, is in Los Angeles with her children.
Kris Jenner, the family’s matriarch and momager, was shown in Season 3 of their TV series visiting Khloé in the “Everything Is My Fault” episode. This was also where Khloé’s sister’s ex-partner, Scott Disick, awkwardly asked her for a date.
During the episode, Khloé revealed to her mom that she felt guilty that she had not been able to connect with Tatum yet, and three months had already passed. She further shared with her mother that she has created new rules for Tristan Thompson, her ex-partner, and her children’s father.
Khloé was clear, though, that she is not rekindling her relationship with her cheating ex.
Kris asked how Khloé felt about Tatum, given that one quarter had passed since the surrogacy experience and the baby being home with her. The media personality answered, “When you compare it between True and him, it’s a very different experience, the connection.”
She further explained that with her firstborn daughter, it just took her a couple of days to realize and accept her new reality of True being her daughter and that she was entirely into it. She emphasized the length of time being days only, but for Tatum, Khloé bared that it’s taking her months.
Khloé was clear that she loves her son and kids, but she feels like she still doesn’t have that complete bond with her son yet. She acknowledged that, as advised by friends, it can take time, but the frustration and guilt were apparent to the struggling mom.
Being sympathetic and positive, while also trying to gauge her daughter’s feelings and situation, Kris responded, “I think that for you, you’ve been through a lot. Your emotions are spent trying to deal with trauma and all the stuff that you’ve been through, and I think you have to remember that. I mean, you have to give yourself a little bit of credit.”
Khloé agreed and understood what her mother was trying to say, but she still couldn’t help but feel guilty. She also assured Kris that she was not treating Tatum differently, but there were instances when she questioned herself. To further boost her daughter’s confidence and let her know that she was appreciated, Kris added that she needed to be nicer to herself and give herself a break.
Citing an example, Kris called Khloé the “Mother of the Year” because she’s keen on feeding another person, entertaining somebody, or doting on and pampering the kids. She also described her daughter as the most attentive person among everyone in their household.
