Rihanna Bids Her Post Goodbye As She Steps Down As Savage X Fenty’s CEO
All good things come to an end, and it’s the same with Rihanna as she steps down as CEO of Savage X Fenty.
The 35-year-old Umbrella hitmaker, who was recently spotted at the Cannes Lions Festival, founded the global brand in 2018. Since the birth of the brand, Rihanna has served as CEO. And in a statement released to Vogue, the expectant mother shared, “It’s been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years.”
It was reported that the singer became a billionaire, mainly owing to the continued success of her lingerie brand. Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty line also contributed to her new status as a tycoon.
In the same Vogue statement, Rihanna added that her stepping down is just the pivotal starting point for the team, and everyone will continue to grow in ways that will always connect with their customers.
The Rude Girl singer also took the chance to briefly but excitedly introduce the new CEO of the brand, Hillary Super. She described her as a strong leader who is focused and determined to take the business and the brand to an even higher level.
Rihanna will remain with her lingerie line as the executive chairman.
With Hillary’s arrival at Savage X Fenty, she brings an impressive tenure, having previously worked as the Anthropologie Group CEO. She also honed and explored her leadership skills by working with global brands like American Eagle, Gap, Guess, and Old Navy.
The new CEO said, “I’m thrilled to join the Savage X Fenty family. The brand is a major powerhouse in the lingerie and apparel industry, and its unwavering commitment to celebrating inclusivity and fearlessness is inspiring.”
Hillary officially took on the role on June 26.
Savage X Fenty has paved the way and opened new opportunities for size-inclusive fashion. The brand is not just your go-to when looking for a broader range of plus-size lingerie. It also promotes and celebrates all kinds of bodies thanks to its plus-sized models during fashion shows. Its main goal is to celebrate fearlessness, confidence, and inclusivity.
And true to its promise, the brand debuted in 2018, carrying bra sizes from 20A to 46DDD and underwear ranging from XS to 4X.
Rihanna always wanted the brand to expand way beyond e-commerce, and with Hillary onboard, the soon-to-be mother-of-two may be reaching her ultimate goal after all.
The growth of Savage X Fenty has been impressive, with seven new stores opening last year alone. Rihanna being the CEO and the brand’s major promoter did wonders for the label, and it all happened seamlessly.
Many speculate that Rihanna’s move to step down as CEO is in preparation for the upcoming birth of her second child. The singer is already a mom to RZA Athlaston, whom she shares with rapper Beau A$AP Rocky. The hitmaker announced her second pregnancy during her Super Bowl half-time show.
