Hugh Jackman Has Strict Dating Rules For 18-Year-Old Daughter
Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman is conflicted with the idea of his daughter, 18-year-old Ava, dating. Like any other parent, the father is coming to terms with his daughter exploring and expanding her wings.
The actor has come up with tough rules for their teen daughter, and according to Hugh’s wife, Deborah-Lee Furness, Ava is aware that she needs to “earn her father’s trust.”
The concern about Ava starting to date came up, given that the teen has started her final year of school. And with this, a prom is forthcoming, and even Hugh is aware that this is something he can’t control.
According to a close family friend, it’s not just about dating but also about Ava being an adult and on her own. With this inevitable reality, it was revealed that Hugh is struggling to accept that Ava, his little girl, is growing up.
This is a dilemma that all parents go through, and with Ava having always been a daddy’s girl, she knows she has to give her father time to get used to the changes.
Indeed, Ava has been going easy on her father, and her mother has always been there for her, too, reminding her of the rule that “Trust is earned, so don’t screw up.”
It is worth mentioning that Hugh and Deborah-Lee have defied all the odds and challenges of Hollywood marriages. They are one of the few who have remained in their union, married for 27 years.
And recently, the Australian actor shared that he and Deborah-Lee had different perceptions and thoughts about children and parenting, especially when they first adopted their children. The couple have two adopted children, 22-year-old Oscar and Ava, also an Aussie.
During a stint in The Radio Times, Hugh, who is the current Guinness World Record holder for having the longest career in a live-action Marvel character, further revealed that despite the differences that he and his wife had then, when you fall in love with a person, you will work on your relationship no matter how vast the differences are.
They had unique views on parenting, but when the kids arrived, they suddenly came together and became a team.
A photo of Hugh wearing his Wolverine costume recently surfaced. He will be reprising his iconic role again in the third installment of Deadpool, starring Ryan Reynolds. Deadpool 3 is slated for its universal premiere on May 3, 2024.
The last update about the film is that Wendy Molyneux and her sister Lizzie Moylneux-Loeglin were tapped to write the movie while Shawn Levy will be directing. Until now, there are uncertainties about the future of the Deadpool franchise after Disney acquired Fox, where the two installments of the movie were made.
As of now, Deadpool is an official Marvel Studios property. And it is a feather to be added to Disney’s cap because the first Deadpool released in 2016 earned an impressive worldwide gross of $782 million, and two years after, Deadpool outdid its predecessor at $785 million.
