Kim Kardashian Says Pete Davidson Romance Was Too Fast As She Opens Up About Post-Divorce Reflection
In an emotionally revealing conversation with her sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner on a recent episode of The Kardashians, reality star Kim Kardashian admitted to rushing into a new relationship with comedian Pete Davidson following her divorce from Kanye West in 2021.
Acknowledging her hasty decision, the 42-year-old star expressed that using a new relationship as an escape from her emotions was not a healthy approach. “It got my mind away from stuff and that’s not a way to run from things,” she reflected.
Realizing the need for a different approach, Kim developed a new mantra: “It’s better to deal. Heal… Deal, heal, and then feel.”
Amid the controversy surrounding her rapper ex-husband, Kim shared that she doesn’t want to view her experience in a negative light. “I’m not going to take every experience and bad thing that happened to me and carry that into my life. What am I supposed to be learning from this? How is this going to make me a better person?” she explained.
In a previous episode, Kim emotionally broke down in front of her sister Khloé while discussing Kanye’s outbursts. Expressing her feelings, she said, “It sucks when someone doesn’t see how different they are. I always will [keep looking for that person]. You’ll always hope you’ll see a glimpse of them, and I hope I do.”
Kim further shared her confusion, stating, “It’s really confusing for me; it’s so different from the person that I married. That’s who I loved, and that’s who I remember. I’ll do anything to get that person back.”
However, she also expressed empathy for Kanye, saying, “I feel so bad for him. I don’t even think he feels bad for himself because I don’t even think he knows how,” while revealing her fears of confronting him about his antisemitic rants.
Kim and Kanye officially divorced in March 2022, concluding their six-year marriage. The former couple’s relationship began in 2011 and led to the birth of their first daughter, North, in June 2013. They tied the knot in 2014 and welcomed three more children – Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
Following her divorce, Kim found companionship with Pete Davidson, beginning their relationship in the fall of 2021 after her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live. During this time, Kanye unleashed a series of attacks on the then-new couple through his online platforms and in interviews.
Opening up on the season 3 premiere of The Kardashians, Kim expressed feelings of guilt over the impact their split had on the Saturday Night Live star, stating, “He went through a lot because of my relationship [with Kanye].”
