After seven years of marriage, Sofia Vergara and her husband, Joe Manganiello, have called it quits, revealing that the pair has unfortunately grown apart after they showed each other true versions of themselves.
In a joint statement, 51-year-old Sofia and 46-year-Jie shared, “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for the respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
The couple got married in 2015 in Florida and have no children.
Friends close to the couple gave an overview of how Sofia and Joe drifted apart because of the differences in their attitudes, which is a little off because these opposite characteristics they had were what made their bond in the first place.
For instance, Joe has a kid’s heart, which means he loves playing Dungeons & Dragons and wrestling. He is all about video games, comic books, superhero movies, concerts, and the NFL. Joe is all about fun and chasing fun.
In addition to this, he likes being out and simply having a good time. But in fairness to him, when he needs to be serious, and it’s time to be in work mode, he will get that part of himself turned on, but overall, he likes to live his life to the fullest and and have fun.
During the start of their relationship, Sofia, who has the completely contrasting personality of Joe, loved this about him. Yes, she also loves going out and having a good time, but she is more inclined toward the finer things in life, like lavish dinners, trips, being a Hollywood celebrity, and everything that goes in between.
Sofia has always been told that she’s pretty, super-hot, and beautiful. She’s all that, and in a way, it got to her head. She has developed a temper, and she gets upset over silly things, whereas Joe doesn’t mind and just lets things go, not stressing himself and going with the flow.
