Jessie J Rolls Her Eyes at Body Shamers Noting Her Postpartum Mommy Body
As if new mothers don’t have enough on their plates, Jessie J, who just gave birth to her child a few months ago, also has to deal with body shamers and negative people commenting on her postpartum figure.
Last Tuesday, the 35-year-old clapped back on social media at all those who commented on her body after giving birth. The “Price Tag” artist used a blank background to make her point and confidently showed off her body — side rolls and all. She also mentioned how several people have openly and bluntly judged her.
In the same social media post, she encouraged her followers to love their bodies and celebrate themselves. The singer shared that some people told her, “I bet you can’t wait to get your body back.” She responded with an eye-rolling emoji to the statement.
Contrary to public speculations, Jessie J doesn’t appear to be longing after her old body, especially after adding, “That body is gone.”
As Jessie embraced motherhood and her new physique, she continued, “I want my body to go forward. I’m getting my body forward.” It seems that she wants to foster body positivity and self-love among her impressive 13.6 million online followers. She also encouraged her fan base to build healthy relationships with their bodies.
She concluded her post with, “That’s the vibe ladies. Embrace that bowdddddy!”
Recall that it was only last May when the Grammy nominee became a first-time mother and welcomed her son with partner Chanan Safir Colman. Before giving birth to their son, the “Bang Bang” hitmaker and the basketball player had a steady relationship for about a year. By July this year, the new mom shared a special announcement and a photo of their son named Sky with the public.
Using her Instagram account, Jessie wrote, “Mans like…Sky Safir Cornish Colman.”
The name surprised her followers because Jessie and her beau have kept it under wraps for as long as possible. Some were even speculating that the boy’s name was Ben Shelli because Chanan shared a black and white photo of the child on his social media account sometime in June and raved about Ben Shelli. Some fans took this as an announcement of their son’s name only to discover that Ben in Hebrew means “son.”
With her partner away for a few days, Jessie J shared how her new responsibilities as a mother have left her with little time for sleep. She admitted that her new role has kept her exhausted and a bit delusional.
The singer did try to keep it positive by being comical about what she’s going through and even shared her thoughts about breast pumps being life-changing. She has commented about what a big help they are and how she leaves the house with them on. Making a fun dig at her partner, she mentioned that she has never been so in love with anyone as she has become with their son.
All things considered — motherhood as well as the sleepless days and nights — it’s encouraging to see Jesse being a good sport about her recent life experiences.
