Lindsay Lohan Receives a Thoughtful Gift From Co-Star Jamie Lee Curtis After Giving Birth
You might recall Lindsay announcing that she was expecting on her social media account last March. Her representative recently released a statement about the birth of their son by saying, “Lindsay Lohan and her financier husband, Bader Shammas, welcomed a beautiful son named Luai. The family is over the moon in love.”
Luai was born in Dubai where Lindsay and her husband live. In Arabic, the child’s name translates to protector or shield. She recently revealed a gift she received from Jamie Lee Curtis, her Freaky Friday co-star from the early 2000s.
The actress used her social media account and posted a brief video last Tuesday where Lindsay was shown with several books sent by the 64-year-old Jamie. Lindsay shared, “Thank you so much, Jamie. Thank you, and there’s more…” She then showed more books inside a bag that reads “Books to Grow By.”
What makes these books even more special is the fact that some were written by Jamie with Laura Cornell as the illustrator. Published from 1993 to 2018 under HarperCollins Children’s Books, the actress and children’s author sent Lindsay What Do You See?, Where Do Balloons Go?, and My Mommy Hung the Moon which were written by Jamie. Other books in the package were I’m Gonna Like Me, My Brave Year of Firsts, Today I Feel Silly, Big Words for Little People, and Other Moods That Make My Day.
Jamie was one of the first Hollywood celebrities to congratulate Lindsay as she welcomed her bundle of joy. It’s heartwarming to see that the two have remained close since their movie together was released in 2003. She even posted that her movie daughter just made her a movie grandmother.
Freaky Friday Leads to Decades-Long Friendship
Lindsay and Jamie were the lead actresses in the 2003 movie Freaky Friday. The film was an instant hit. The plot revolves around a mother and daughter who were played by Jamie and Lindsay, respectively. Interestingly, they switched bodies when they opened an enchanted Chinese fortune cookie. Though the onscreen mother-daughter pair often fought and misunderstood each other, the experience teaches them to be more empathetic to one another before switching back to their regular bodies.
The movie was an instant hit and paved the way for an enduring friendship between Jamie and Lindsay. Last year, Jamie casually mentioned that she and Lindsay were in talks with Disney, the film’s producer, about the possibility of doing a Freaky Friday sequel. This will surely be a nostalgic experience for everyone who enjoyed the first movie!
Around May this year, Disney announced that the movie’s sequel was already in the works. A month later, Jamie personally confirmed to a fan that the production for the film’s second installment will commence in 2024.
Although there is no definite release date yet, many speculate that Disney’s timeline was in consideration of Lindsay who has just given birth and would need to adjust to her new role as a mom.
