Ed Sheeran Reveals No New ‘End Game’ With Taylor Swift Yet”
It seems the harmonious duo of Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift won’t be rekindling their creative fire just yet. In a recent candid chat on Sirius XM’s Deep & Shallow Podcast with Andy Cohen, Ed revealed that the long-anticipated End Game sequel remains in the vaults for now.
“I haven’t, no,” confessed Sheeran when quizzed about a possible new version of End Game. The Eyes Closed singer went on to share that the eagerly awaited “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” is the next treat fans can look forward to.
The topic arose as Cohen inquired if Ed was making time to enjoy Taylor’s Eras Tour and Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour, both running concurrently with Ed’s Subtract Tour.
Expressing the uniqueness of each artist’s show, Ed remarked, “I think what’s nice about everyone’s show is everyone’s show is so individual to them. And everyone’s got a different show — we’re all playing. I would love to go and see Taylor’s show, but we’re all playing on the same dates every single weekend. I think there’s a chance next year when she’s in the U.K.”
Fans in the United Kingdom can eagerly await Taylor’s Eras Tour making its way to their shores in June 2024, hitting cities like Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff, and London.
End Game, a collaborative masterpiece by Taylor and Ed and rapper Future, continues to resonate, marking it as the third single from Reputation. Although Taylor has yet to revisit it in her re-recordings, she’s all set to launch 1989 (Taylor’s Version), her refreshed take on her 2014 album, on October 27.
Remembering their previous musical rendezvous, Ed was at Ed’s side when they revamped their Red duet, Everything Has Changed, in 2021. The reimagined Red album also boasted another union, Run, showing the lasting rapport between the two. Their synergy dates back to Taylor’s 2013-2014 North American tour, where Ed kicked off the shows as the opening act.
Ed’s recent album, (pronounced Subtract), got a touch of magic from producer Aaron Dessner, known for his work with Taylor on folklore and evermore. Reflecting on this collaboration, Ed credited Taylor for introducing him to Aaron’s creative flair. In an Instagram post, he shared, “I have to be honest I was a bit reticent to work with him that soon after folklore and evermore because I felt that was Taylor’s thing and they had both been done so perfectly. But we met for dinner, chatted about life and music, and he promised to send me some instrumentals for me to write over whenever inspiration hit.”
Beyond the world of music, Ed and Taylor’s bond goes deeper. In a conversation with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Ed revealed, “I had an hour-20 conversation with her yesterday and we were just — everything that was on our minds we talked about. She’s basically in the same sphere.”
In a world where music and friendship merge seamlessly, Ed and Taylor continue to light up each other’s paths, leaving fans eagerly anticipating what they’ll create next.
