Miley Cyrus Doesn’t Want to Tour, Believes It’s Unhealthy for Her
Going on tours can be exhausting for any performer. The hectic schedule, constant traveling, and energetic performances can physically take their toll on the body. Sometimes, the price is even higher.
Miley Cyrus, who successfully released her new song, “Used To Be Single,” got honest with her followers in TikTok when she revealed that touring is unhealthy for her.
The 30-year-old Hannah Montana alum acknowledged that she has enjoyed a successful music career. Still, the “Flowers” hitmaker claims that touring erases her humanity and smothers her ability to create new songs.
She explained in a TikTok video: “Having every day the relationship between you and other humans being subject and observer isn’t healthy for me because it erases my humanity and connection. And without my humanity and my connection, I can’t be a songwriter, which is my priority.”
Last May, Miley confessed that she has no plans of going on tour in the near future. According to her, “It’s so isolating because if you’re in front of 100,000 people then you are alone.”
And it looks like another singer agrees with Miley. Singer Grimes chimed in by writing, “If you exist entirely for the pleasure of others, there is nothing left of you. It’s so hard to express this without feeling ungrateful, but if you are an introvert, I have no idea how to approach tour again, but I feel so guilty about it.”
To help the public understand, Miley shared her untold life stories through a series of TikTok videos on her Instagram account. The singer and actress started by saying that sometimes she feels like her life began with Hannah Montana, her hit Disney show that aired from 2006 to 2011. Many people forget that before Hannah, there was Miley.
She continued that her fantasy was to light the world with music, laughter, and iconic moments that would last her a lifetime. Decades after Hannah, Miley is proud that she is continuously fulfilling her purpose thanks to the love of her fans.
Miley mentioned that the videos she’s making now greatly inspired her new single as she looks back to her life from 1992 until now.
In one of her earlier TikTok, Miley shared how different she was from her famous artist father Billy Ray Cyrus. Her 61-year-old dad dominated the airwaves in 1992 with his hit country song “Achy Breaky Heart.” Though they have different musical genres, the father and daughter tandem have been successful in their careers. Still, Miley noted that her father didn’t grow up with a complete family and the stability that she enjoyed while growing up.
Billy Ray fought in his early years of life to survive. Miley, on the other hand, has had everything provided for her. Although she’s affected by her audience’s presence and love, her father is touched on a much deeper, emotional level by his audiences.
Miley believes that when her dad feels special, some of his childhood wounds heal. It’s a huge contrast from Miley who grew up with everything she could possibly need.
