Chris Evans Marries Long-Time Girlfriend Alba Baptista
Chris Evans is officially married. He and his long-time girlfriend (now wife) Alba Baptista said their “I do’s” at a private estate in Cape Cod.
According to a Page Six source, the wedding was highly locked down. Attendees were asked to sign non-disclosure agreements and their phones were temporarily surrendered. These measures were undertaken to ensure that any photos or information about the wedding would only come from Chris or Alba.
The same insider revealed it was a star-studded gathering. Guests included Chris’ former co-stars in the Marvel movies like Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey, and Jeremy Renner. John Krasinski and his wife Emily Blunt, Elsa Pataky, and Susan Downey were also spotted near Boston.
In January, Chris officially confirmed his relationship with Alba via a cute video where they tried to scare each other. Last November, People reported that the Captain America actor had been dating the budding actress for more than a year and was in a serious relationship with her.
The publication stated, “They are in love, and Chris has never been happier. His family and friends all adore her.”
Chris’ dating history includes Hollywood actresses Jenny Slate, Minka Kelly, and Jessica Biel. Last year, there were also rumors that he was getting cozy with Selena Gomez.
During his interview with People last year, he shared how he was content with his personal life. He also commented that he would like to settle down one day and that one of his goals is to have a wife and children.
He explained, “When you read about most of the best artists, whether it’s actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn’t the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships; the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared.”
He continued, “So it’s also something through my long 41 years that also rings true. Those things are the most important. I love the idea of tradition and ceremony. I had a lot of that in my life, so the idea of creating that—I can’t think of anything better.”
Alba is also successful in her own right. When she was 16, she acted in a short film entitled Miami which landed her a Best Actress Award at the Festival Ibérico de Ciné.
She also starred in Portuguese films like Caminhos Magnétykos by Edgar Pêra and Equinócio by Ivo Ferreira. In 2019, she starred in Patrick, and the year after, in Fatima.
In 2020, she had a lead role in a Netflix production entitled Warrior Nun. This year, she is the female lead in Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris.
Alba is also known for her humanitarian work in a Cambodian orphanage four years ago.
Last July, Chris’ brother Scott defended his brother’s relationship with the younger Alba. The couple have a 16-year age difference.
Scott, who is openly gay, addressed the bashing and criticism that Chris received, saying that it is tough for his sibling to maintain relationships because people can ruin things quickly for him.
