Eminem And 50 Cent’s Epic Detroit Reunion Rocks The Final Lap Tour
In a jaw-dropping surprise that electrified fans, 50 Cent brought his Final Lap Tour to the Pine Knob Music Theatre in Michigan last Sunday. But that’s not all – the evening turned into an unforgettable moment for hip-hop lovers when 50 Cent welcomed his longtime friend and collaborator, Eminem, on stage.
The Detroit Free Press reports that 50 Cent, also known as Curtis James Jackson III, and Slim Shady, better known as Eminem, joined forces for an explosive performance, treating the ecstatic crowd to not one but two incredible songs.
Eminem, a Detroit native, made a dramatic entrance as 50 Cent was wrapping up his verse in their 2003 hit Patiently Waiting. The crowd went wild as the two hip-hop giants shared the stage for this unforgettable track. The energy didn’t stop there; they followed up with Crack a Bottle, a 2009 song featuring 50 Cent, turning the concert into an unforgettable hip-hop spectacle. Fans couldn’t resist capturing footage of this dynamic duo, and videos soon flooded social media.
Eminem, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, expressed his admiration for his close friend, 50 Cent, after their performance. “Detroit, make some noise for one of the best friends I’ve ever known: 50 Cent!” he declared, emphasizing the significance of hip-hop’s 50th birthday. He continued, “Detroit, I love y’all!” as he basked in the hometown love.
On Instagram, 50 Cent reciprocated the love, praising Eminem in a heartfelt caption: “👀Bro when I do anything with EM people just go crazy they know he really my boy. I love him till death!”
The Grammy-winning artist later shared a thrilling Instagram post, showcasing photos of their on-stage reunion and a video capturing the roaring cheers of the crowd as Eminem made his entrance. 50 Cent captioned it with, “The Final lap 🌎 tour unbelievable moments 🤦♂️Detroit.”
In an interesting twist, Eminem’s 27-year-old daughter, Hailie Jade Scott, who has been the inspiration for several of his songs, was among the ecstatic crowd members.
But the excitement doesn’t end here. Fans of both artists can look forward to a new collaboration. Earlier this year, 50 Cent revealed his plans to bring Eminem’s semi-autobiographical film, 8 Mile, to television. In an interview with BigBoyTV on YouTube, he shared his enthusiasm for the project and confirmed Eminem’s involvement in its production. “It’s gonna be big. I’m working. I ain’t got no duds. I think it should be there for his legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it,” the rapper explained.
50 Cent initially announced The Final Lap Tour in May to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his game-changing debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’. The North American leg of the tour concluded in Detroit, but there’s more to come. In late September, he will take the show overseas, with a series of fall dates across Europe and the U.K.
