Kendall was wearing a silk robe and was sitting on a makeup chair. A group of fans were behind her, showing their support, with some asking for a selfie. The model indulged one fan by snapping a photo on their phone. But this is when the clip takes a turn.
As soon as the selfie was taken and she handed the phone back, Kendall’s smile immediately dropped. The transformation was stark—she made a face and turned her attention back to the mirror as she tugged her robe back in place.
Since the clip recently resurfaced on Reddit, Kendall has been called names and received harsh criticism on how she handled that moment.
One Reddit user called her “a mean b****,” while others jumped into the backslash in other ways. Another user said that among all the Kardashian-Jenner reality stars, Kendall was the least liked. While her sisters can be rude, and they have all faced various controversies, Kendall is simply a person who has never been pleasant.
Another ranted that of all the Keeping Up With the Kardashian sisters, Kendall thinks highly of herself and feels superior and above everyone else.
Despite the backlash directed towards the model, some people took her side and posted comments in her defense. Supporters asked those attacking Kendall to look closely at the short clip because the model looked upset from the get-go. A Reddit user wrote, “I honestly think, from a psychological standpoint, that Kendall comes across as cold and b****y because she’s putting up a barrier.”
One comment mentioned that Kendall was at work. When preparing for a fashion show, they follow a strict schedule and a nearly impossible timeline before getting onstage. And if she’s working, those fans should have just appreciated the model taking a few precious seconds of her time to get a selfie.
The litany of comments is undoubtedly keeping the thread active, despite the footage being a year old. But the concept of Kendall behaving like a diva is not new. Earlier this year, she was also accused of being rude to other models, including her close friend Gigi Hadid, during the 2023 Met Gala.
In a video clip from the event, Kendall was captured clapping with Gigi during the Gala, then turning around to pose for the camera and frowning. She was also called out for that behavior and was again accused of being rude and dismissive.
The media personality and businesswoman seems to be well aware of how she is perceived—in an episode of The Kardashians that aired in 2022, she acknowledged that people see her as mean. She explains, “I think one [misconception] that I guess hurts the most is that people think I’m a mean girl. ‘Cause that’s just not the case. It can be upsetting when someone is questioning your character, and if only people knew me.”
