Brian Austin Green Announces Engagement To Long-Time Beau Sharna Burgess
Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess are getting married! The couple recently announced their engagement. They have been in a relationship for three years and welcomed Zane, their one-year-old son, last year.
The 50-year-old Brian’s most notable role was David Silver in Beverly Hills 90210, while the 38-year-old Sharna is a Dancing with the Stars pro. The couple shared their good news in the latest episode of the Old-ish podcast. The couple also announced the milestone via a joint video posted on Instagram.
In the video clip, which they captioned, “Our latest chapter,” Brian’s hand is seen against a patch of grass in the frame. Then, four of his children’s hands appeared and rested on top of each other. And finally, Sharna’s hand went into the frame, wearing a massive, eye-catching engagement ring. It was a creative and unique way to announce their engagement, and what’s special about it is Brian’s children were involved.
As previously mentioned, Zane is the one-year-old he shares with his dancer fiancé. He had three older children with Megan Fox, his ex-wife: 10-year-old Noah, 9-year-old Bodhi, and 7-year-old Journey. His oldest son, now 21, is named Kassius, whom he shares with ex-partner Vanessa Marcil.
Sharna showed off her new ring when she attended the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. She attended with her husband-to-be; this was their first event as an officially engaged couple.
Aside from the Instagram reel the couple shared, they also give their followers a glimpse of their engagement’s backstory. After the official announcement, they finally told the whole story in a recent podcast episode, which Randy Spelling is co-hosting.
The couple clarified that they had been engaged since earlier this year, specifically in July, when the family threw a surprise party for Brian. So, Brian and Sharna have technically been engaged for two months.
Brian concurred with his version of the proposal—yes, it was during his 50th birthday when he asked Sharna to marry him. He thought it was the perfect date and place, partly because his partner never saw it coming.
Taking over the story, Sharna gushed that she knew something was up, especially when Brian called all their children together to come to their bedroom with Noah holding his little brother, Zane, and then Journey holding a red Cartier box.
Their children witnessed Brian sweetly asking Sharna, “Would you spend the rest of your life with us?” The dancer said yes, it was an intimate celebration with their tribe, and Brian was incredibly proud of how the events unfolded.
The actor said that having his children there when he proposed was essential to him because his children are a part of everything in his life. Brian and Sharna then shared their reasoning for waiting two months after the proposal before sharing it with everyone.
Sharna admitted that Brian was totally up for it to be out in the open, but they didn’t know how to announce it in the best possible way.
Recall that Brian once told People that after his split with Megan, he was not looking for a relationship, much less ready to be in one. But love has a way, and with Sharna, the sparks flew.
