Miley Cyrus Gets Restraining Order Against Ex-Con Stalker
Miley Cyrus can let out a sigh of relief after being granted court-ordered protection against an alleged stalker. Based on court documents obtained by TMZ, the 30-year-old Disney alum claimed that Alexander Kardalian arrived at her home several days after the 52-year-old man was released from prison.
In the legal filing, the performer indicated that Alexander had been sending her unsolicited letters that described his obsession with her. Apparently, the man has been writing her since 2018.
It also stated that Alexander repeatedly asked for money and made sexually charged comments about the singer. Further into the legal filing, Miley wrote that Alexander’s obsessive behavior became more alarming last summer when he arrived out of nowhere at Miley’s Los Angeles home on two different occasions. It was reported that Alexander was escorted out of Miley’s property during both instances.
The singer also wrote that she received a letter from Alexander telling her he would visit her in her home as soon as he left prison. After his arrest last December and doing time in San Quentin State Prison, Alexander was just released last August. True to his word, Alexander came by to visit, but he was not permitted to see Miley thanks to her security team while the police were promptly advised of his presence.
According to Miley’s statement, Alexander was threatened with arrest if he returned to the performer’s home in the future. However, it appears that it didn’t scare him one bit because he kept going there.
As if stalking weren’t enough, Miley also wrote that Alexander has been using her residential address for health insurance purposes. Alexander doesn’t seem to care what could happen to him even if Miley keeps ignoring him and remains unresponsive to his attempts to communicate with her.
Miley believes that her stalker is suffering from severe mental health problems and that he harbors a dangerous fixation on her. Because of these troubling developments, Miley admitted that she was worried about her safety and the safety of her mother, Tish, and her boyfriend, Maxx Morando.
The judge agreed with the singer and signed the restraining order. This means that Alexander is legally prohibited from contacting Miley and has to stay away from the actress in all her public appearances, including concerts. At all times, he must maintain a distance of at least 100 yards. The order also requires Alexander to keep his distance from Miley’s car and properties.
Unfortunately, this isn’t Miley’s first encounter with stalkers. In 2019, 42-year-old David Rumsey was also arrested for stalking her. He told her security team that he wanted to get her pregnant and wrote to her via the singer’s social media accounts. When she Tweeted about her iHeartRadio Music Festival performance in Los Angeles, he creepily commented online, “Been here since Thursday hoping to maybe meet up before if you where in town early. Love you and hope you give me time. We have a lot to talk about.”
