Actor Sam Underwood Faces Domestic Battery Charges In Los Angeles
Actor Sam Underwood, recognized for his role in the popular series Fear the Walking Dead, finds himself in legal trouble today as he faces domestic battery charges in Los Angeles. The incident unfolded in the early hours of Saturday, October 7, leading to Sam’s arrest by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Reports indicate that LAPD responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance in an apartment in the Los Angeles area at approximately 2:30 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene, officers were informed of a domestic quarrel that had allegedly escalated into a physical altercation.
The unnamed woman involved in the incident, whose relationship with Sam remains unclear, displayed visible marks on her body, though she did not require medical attention, according to law enforcement authorities. Subsequently, the actor was taken into custody on felony domestic battery charges. After approximately 10 hours in custody, he was released. According to some reports, he was released on his own recognizance and did not pay any amount in bond.
A spokesperson for Sam has yet to comment on the situation.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the case to determine whether criminal charges will be filed against the actor. Meanwhile, sources close to Sam have informed TMZ, the first to report this news, that he has provided his attorney with photographs, video recordings, and audio recordings that allegedly disprove the claims made against him.
It is essential to note that Sam was married to Valorie Curry, and the couple exchanged vows in July 2016 after meeting on the set of the Fox series The Following in 2013. Following news of the actor’s arrest were rumors circulating that Valorie must have been the victim in the case as she fits the bill in the eyes of many who still think the couple are together. However, sources close to her tell a different tale. According to Radar Online, the two have separated and Valorie has confirmed that she is not the unnamed woman and had nothing to do with the case.
“I can confirm that he and Valorie have been divorced since April 2023. Separated in 2022. She is not the victim,” a rep shared, speaking to the outlet.
While the rep claimed that the actor’s marriage ended already, the exact circumstances surrounding the marriage are yet to be known. The marriage’s exact status is also unclear.
