Pregnant Kourtney Didn’t Attend Kim’s Birthday Bash Because She Was on Bed Rest
Kim Kardashian celebrated her 44th birthday in style with close friends, family, and some of Hollywood’s VIPs. For the Kardashian-Jenner clan, birthday celebrations have always been a family affair where most, if not the entire household, have been present.
Notably absent during her birthday was Kim’s older sister, Kourtney Kardashian. The day after the celebration, Kim explained why her sister skipped the celebration.
During the weekend, Kim shared bits and pieces about her birthday bash. Photos of those in attendance included the family matriarch Kris Jenner, and sisters Khloe, Kendall, and Kylie. There were also pictures of the birthday girl with famous friends, including Sara Foster, Steph Shepherd, Hailey Bieber, Olivia Pierson, and Tracy Romulus.
Kim captioned her uploaded photos with, “So blessed to have hit the jackpot of friends! I couldn’t have ever dreamed I would be so lucky to call these girls my friends. Thank you for all the birthday love.”
The reality star explained why Kourtney was absent by writing, “And Kourt, I’m jumping in bed with you next week for our bed rest picnic.”
Pregnant Kourtney, who is carrying her child with husband Travis Barker, underwent an emergency operation to save their unborn child a few months back. She is already a mom to three children: 13-year-old Mason, 11-year-old Penelope, and 8-year-old Reign, whom she shares with ex-partner Scott Disick.
Kourtney is also a stepmother to Travis’ two children, 20-year-old Landon and 17-year-old Alabama, who he had with Shanna Moakler.
Recall that Travis and Kourtney have shared their journey of trying to conceive through IVF after getting married. But they had little success and ended up conceiving naturally. Kourtney revealed her pregnancy news to her husband during a Blink-182 concert last June.
Right now, there is no clear date on when the baby is expected. But based on Kourtney’s announcement and a rough timeline of events, the baby will likely be born between now and the end of the year.
Many fans and followers speculated that Kourtney skipped Kim’s birthday because of their ongoing feud. During their family’s reality show, The Kardashians, the two sisters had a fight where Kourtney called Kim a witch. In retaliation, Kim dragged their friends’ names and even Kourtney’s children into the argument. During their tiff, it was revealed that there was a group chat that Kourtney wasn’t part of.
Kim and Kourtney’s relationship hasn’t always been smooth sailing. Another recent issue questioned Kourtney’s commitment to the family’s reality show. It appeared that Kourtney wanted to spend more time with her family and enjoy being a mom without cameras constantly following her around.
Kim rebuffed Kourtney’s complaints with, “So all of the days Kourtney isn’t filming, Khloé and I are picking up the slack and having to share more. Cause if we’re not sharing our lives, then what is the show?”
Wedding drama further fueled the sister’s conflict when Kim accepted an offer to be a creative director for a Dolce & Gabbana show in Milan. This didn’t go well with Kourtney because D&G designed her wedding dress which Kim didn’t approve of. Additionally, Kourtney called out Kim for using her wedding as a money-making opportunity.
