Simon Cowell’s Formula for Work-Life Balance Life
As a globally renowned music mogul, many expect Simon Cowell to be working 24/7. After all, he previously admitted to working 20 hours a day as a record executive, TV personality, and entrepreneur. Based on recent information, however, the 64-year-old has drastically cut down on his hours. He only works four days a week, with Fridays as personal no-work days.
He shared that he’s arrived at the perfect work-life balance. Additionally, Simon no longer works on Fridays because he no longer sees the point in it. The often-controversial English personality also spends quality time with his long-time partner Lauren Silverman and their 10-year-old son Eric.
During his interview with The Sun, Simon revealed, “Actually, the first thing [I do] is take off Fridays. Don’t work on Fridays, because you don’t have to. Eat dinner at five o’clock. Don’t take calls after 5.30. Don’t read emails after 5.30. Watch a happy movie. And stay outside. I’m not kidding about the Fridays.”
He reiterated, “I don’t think anyone should work five days a week. It’s just pointless.”
Simon’s drastic lifestyle shift comes after following an extraordinarily hectic and demanding schedule. During his career, he has led successful shows like Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor.
The father-of-one talked about the changes he made last week after showing off his younger appearance and smoother complexion during America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League. The show is the latest spin-off of America’s Got Talent (AGT) and is scheduled to premiere on New Year.
With the debut happening in a few weeks, Simon appeared relaxed and casual as he attended the red-carpet event in Los Angeles’ Red Studios.
America’s Got Talent, so far, has four spin-offs: America’s Got Talent: The Champions, America’s Got Talent: Extreme, America’s Got Talent: All-Stars, and Fantasy League which is due to air on January 1, 2024.
In the newest spin-off, the show’s judges will choose a list of their favorite participants from the AGT franchise. Their picks can be winners, viral sensations, finalists, and anyone who has ever been part of the show. Teams will then be formed based on their choices—like a fantasy sports draft.
AGT judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Mel B will all return while Terry Crews will be the show’s host. For the spin-off, the audience will all be given the power to vote through the AGT app.
In another first, the judges will be more hands-on with their teams because they too will be judging one another. While doing so, they will guide their handpicked talents throughout the competition and help them win. This is the show’s “judge against judge” approach where each of the judges will create fantasy teams made up of 10 different acts for their draft picks.
Despite the show’s premiere, Simon is determined to continue working for only four days. The formula seems to be working for the record executive as he looks happy and healthier while his relationship with Lauren is stronger than ever.
