How Kylie Jenner Tries To Normalize Her Children’s Security Team
Kylie Jenner has security guards following her everywhere 24/7. Even her children have their own bodyguards. It’s not a normal life by any means but Kylie does her best to make the whole situation feel normal for her kids. Surprisingly, her children have developed a good rapport with their security team, to the point that their security feels like part of their daily lives.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum has two children with her ex-partner, rapper Travis Scott. Both children, 5-year-old Stormi and 21-month-old Aire, live with her. In the newest issue of Interview Magazine, she had a revealing conversation with Hunger Games lead actress Jennifer Lawrence. During their talk, she shared that her children have two dedicated security guards who rotate shifts and keep her little ones safe.
Due to the time the children and their security personnel spend together, Kylie admitted that her kids have already formed a special bond with their agents. She also confessed that Stormi, her mini-me daughter, loves her security personnel.
The 26-year-old lip kit mogul admitted that she didn’t have security guards with her while growing up in her family’s Calabasas home. This made having them now a huge adjustment.
The conversation with Kylie started when Jennifer, the Red Sparrow actress, asked her how her children were reacting to always having another person with them.
The Kylie Cosmetics founder answered, “I was young when I got pregnant, but I never had security until I got pregnant. I have two security guards in rotation for them, and they have been with me for five-plus years. She’s [Stormi] very familiar with them, which I feel comfortable with. She actually has a lot of love for them.”
Kylie also narrated that she instructed her kids’ security team not to be so serious all the time and to have a good relationship with the children.
She added, “I’m trying to figure it out too because I never had security growing up, so I don’t know what that’s like, but I try to make it as normal and friendly as possible.”
Jennifer responded by saying that she didn’t expect that there would be a personal connection between bodyguards and their wards, but she did acknowledge that they play a crucial role in the lives of the families they protect.
Kylie agreed, saying, “Yeah, friendly is nice because before I hired them, in my mind, I was like, ‘I want them to be invisible. I don’t want my kid to see you or know you.’ But realized that once these people start spending more time with you and being with you, the realization hits, ‘Well, wait. This is a person in our life. He’s helping us.”
She elaborated that it isn’t a good lesson for kids to ignore the people protecting their family, so she tells her daughter to ask how their security is doing and to be kind and respectful. Kylie also admitted that her security team has become an indelible part of their lives which is exactly what she had hoped.
